If you like that, here is the bridge I took that photo from, this time from standing on the dam.
Yeah I've been there, pictures don't compare... :p

Hey Cop....

Nice Pics, what did it cost you to take the ferry to the mainland. I assume you did.. I was in Victoria in 89' and really enjoyed it. Took the ferry from Seattle but left my van parked at the hotel. I am planning to do a four corners drive in the S550 and this time I'd like to take the ferry with the car..

Oh yeah I was at the dam back in 07' I took the tour, if you think the outside of the dam is awesome you need to go down inside to the bottom, or view the turbine expanse inside. If you want to do the tour make sure you go really early in the am to be there when it opens. The road from Vegas to the Dam is not wide and the traffic backs up for miles.

I've taken a 12 hour road trip with the regular leather seats and find them to be "just okay". The butt area is soft as you sink into it but then seems to lock up. It's like a fake soft. My butt was hurting after like 4 hours where in my previous car (a'hem, a Chevy Volt), I took the same trip and my but felt just fine. I also dislike the seating position I have to sit in to have my eyeline where I want it because the regular seats do not lower enough for my 6' body. I'm always sort of hunching my neck and forced to lean too far back for any sort of performance driving comfort. Taking some getting used to. I have sat in the Recaros and they sit a little lower, low enough that I'd rather have them and may spring for some in the future. And if my butt already is going to hurt with the regular seats, who cares if they hurt with the Recaros!

Ferry to mainland is $78 CAN one way with 2 people and car. That is to Vancover, not Seattle. Seem to average 23.3 m/gal at around 80mph with some spirited passing, pretty damn impressive. Hit a massive thunder and hail storm on the way home in Boise Idaho. Managed to pull into a gas station just before hail started along with a few other people. Around a 1/2" of hail in less than 5 minutes on the road, it was crazy and scary.

A few more pics to show

I'm 6'1" , tell my wife 200lbs,,, lol. Prob closer to 215. The Recaro's felt amazing after 8 hours on the road. No back pain no ass pain. I do believe they sit much lower and I'm actually only using about 3/4 of the adjustment to go back. The Four Corners would be a great drive. I was just out in Farmington NM to watch my boy play in the Conni Mack World Series. Amazing views !!!

One last hotel stay and home tomorrow. 2700 miles so far and an 8 hour drive left to go. After 11 hours today, this seemed just right.

You guys are doing it right. This car was made for long drivers like us. I love the pictures and when I do the Four Corners there will be plenty I send in.

So the Ferry is really cheap to Victoria from Vancouver, Okay I'll make a note of that. I should have asked about Bellingham, since that is actually closer to the corner of the state. But a ride to Vancouver seems like a good idea.

Here is the trip I want to take with my son for summer 2017 right after he graduates high school. This trip is ~6000 miles. Too bad he doesn't even drive yet. And too bad I can't just teleport us to Denver to begin the trip.

Only requires 6 nights in hotels in order to have some tour time in MT and CO National Monument. All other nights are with family or friends.

GF and I already drove 1200 miles from Indy to Ashville last fall. Yes, it is a great vacay car for two.

So now back home and here are some stats. Total of 5280 kms travelled in 8 days, or 3279 miles. Average fuel mileage including Seattle stop and go traffic, LA traffic and a day of cruising in Hollywood and traffic in Phoenix was 21.3 MPG. Highway only driving at probably an average of 70mph was right around 24 mpg. Pretty damn good.

I did try to set a new land speed record north of Vegas on the way home. Road was straight as an arrow and not a car in sight, just had to. 249 kmh or 155 MPH tracked on GPS. Had to back off as the crosswinds were making it a little too dicey. Car was still pulling, makes me wonder what the speed limiter is set at???

That kind of stuff is frowned upon here at the Forums. One group will berate you for getting good mileage in a high performance car, another for enjoying the upper limits of the speed capability on a public road.

However the group that counts, the long mileage folks, hold you in high regard.
And say WOW Way to go!!!!!! :hail:

Well I could care less what people think of my speed, there wasn't another car insight. I would never do that with others on he road, just endangered myself. I hear ya though, people can flame me all they want. Next high speed run will be at Pacific Raceways.

Great job. We aren't paying your car note so enjoy those empty roads to your foot's content.

I'm pretty curious what the limiter is set to myself, but I'd honestly be afraid to go that fast. Silly, I know.
