Taking Apart Door Panels Risk

Greetings!

Brand new to the forum but been browsing around a ton for a long time.

I have a question about taking apart door panels/quarter panels. I have friends who work for Ford in Oakville and they said that if I'm getting new speakers installed or tinting the windows that when door panels/quarter panels or even the console section that the clips holding them will no longer hold as well as when it was done in the production line.

Is this true? Can anyone who's upgraded their door speakers and even added line outs from the factory HU confirm if they've had any rattle issues?

That's what I told my friends who work at Ford but they said that the clips are a one time use item because the door panels are not designed to be removed.

I'm hoping that they're wrong and that those who've updated their door speakers see no difference with the door/quarter/console section being loose or rattle-sounding.

Thanks! Just wanted to be safe as I'm getting my windows tinted and speakers upgraded soon. I love the sound deadening in the S550. Wouldn't want that ruined with rattling

My Mustang rattles from various areas, but I have no idea if it's from removing the door panels a few times, or just the fact it's a Mustang. Not bad rattles mind you, just over bad bumps and frost heaves.

I will agree ideally the door pins are one time use. I've actually tried to find proper replacements, but I couldn't seem to find anything through the dealer, or an exact match at my local auto parts store. I would like some brand new pins in there...

I just ordered (recieved next day) 4 pins from my local Ford dealer. I broke one removing a rear side panel. It was an odd pin with a rubber o-ring on the outside of it, never seen one like it before. What I am saying is every pin is available from Ford but expect to not be able to buy just one of, they usually come in a bag of 2 or more.

Possible on the pins. Although, if these are close to any other size, chances are you might be able to snag them from China...eBay or the likes.

I don't think the doors actually rattle any more than they did before I did any removal, they seem pretty firm. They're also held by two massive bolts on the top, and two smaller screws on the bottom, so they do have some firm mounts other than the pins.

I will say though, you need to be very careful removing the bezels/plastic plates, that go around the door pull/and have the window switch. If you pull with too much angle, you'll break the tab that holds the clip. Ask me how I know.
