I'm waiting for ups to arrive with another 4 consignments from pony parts to go along with the other two that arrived last week!

And I've also ordered a pair of good year f1's for the rear that arrive tomorrow.

The car is not due until mid May...

The wife has said no more... I said okay, but I have a empty loft :ninja:...

DO NOT MIX TYRES, you'd be better off just sticking with Pzero's rather than mixing brands front to rear, it will handle aweful and be a potential nightmare in the wet.

I agree but I have 8 weeks to get a pair of f1's for the front sneakily into the shed...

OK just make sure they are matched identical model, so go with F1AS2 all round of if available F1AS3. :)

Also bear in mind you can get Michelin Pilot Supersport in the stock OEM sizes and trust me they are better than F1AS2 in dry, subjective feedback and will last nearly twice as long. In the wet they have a touch less grip than F1AS2 but they offer more feedback and more progression at limit in the wet.

If it was my money MPSS everytime and in long run you save because they will last longer. :)

Yep you will be moving into the loft like many others after these cars are modded to the hills, good investments on the tyres, saving you a fortune on body work and repair bills in the near future

Gibbo, I hear what your saying but I'm a good year fan and I've had great experiences with them in other performance cars like my old insignia vxr.

Where we live there is a lot of standing water during the winter so wet grip is important to me.

I will be honest and say that I've not tried the mpss but have bad experience of the p zero's as they come on the vxr from the factory...

Thanks for your input...

My wife knows what I'm like, but she's as bad. Between us we've had 3 cars featured in magazines...

And the on the other forum I used to frequent I were heard to say that this place will empty your wallet quicker than a spotty teenager...

Fair enough! :)

I prefer Michelins in the wet, because even though grip is marginally less I am far quicker on the Michelins than I am the Goodyears, simply because the Michelin has better subjective feel and better progression and on the limit handling characteristics. I prefer to be able to feel where the grip is and when its running low instead of having more grip but less feel.

F1AS3 is available should be exceptional. Also Conti 5P/6P are superb wet tyres as well and the best wet tyre by miles is the Rainsport 3, it completely destroys the F1AS2, 7s a lap faster on track in E46 M3 compared to F1AS2 in wet conditions. Infact the rainsport 3 is literally just 2-3s a lap slower than wet slicks, hugely impressive wet tyre.
