I have a auto GT which I picked up in January. A couple of weeks later I had a phone call from the dealership to book my car for a recall fix. However a day before I was suppose to take my car I had another call to say that there is another part which needed to be fitted. So to avoid bringing the car twice - can I not come tomorrow and they will let me know when both parts are in stock. That was at-least 5 weeks ago and never heard from the dealership since. Shall I just forget about it? or push for the recall work to be done ASAP. It is a pain to take the car to the dealer who is 50 miles away and I never had any thing regarding the recall in writing from the Ford? Has anyone else had similar experience and what is the "other " part which need ordering?

Deffo push for the recall, the recall was due to a wiring loom fix because someones car LITERALLY had their engine set on fire, it's not worth the risk, they need to fit a heat shield to one of your wiring looms. The 'parts' are essentially heat proof covers and heat proof tape IIRC

Does anyone know what the production cut-off date is for cars that don't need the recall?

I think the December builds didn't need it, i'm almost certain no jan builds need it.

Twin Turbo maybe able to confirm.

Strange - this would include my car but I have heard nothing from my dealer.

Is there a way I can check visually if my car needs the work?
Check out the link in Twin Turbo's post. It seems to have a fairly detailed procedure with pictures ;)

Clicked but none of it loads from work - will check again at home.

Thanks

I heard nothing from my dealer either. It was only when the on-duty tech at a Mustang event one night offered to check my chassis number for me that it came to light mine needed doing.

I'd checked Etis myself, which has a section for outstanding field actions, but your dealer will have access to a different system, which is where mine showed up.

Crazy that they don't take this more serious give the risk!
