Lol, what sort of mis-information is there and who is spreading it? The voodoo is a flat plane crank motor, regardless of the firing order or if there are 2 intake plenums or not. Mclaren and Ferrari are the only 2 other manufacturers that over a FPC "production" motor, no real misinformation that.
Maybe with all the 's you're throwing around that you're the one who's .

Go back to where I wrote about the crankshaft and exhaust plumbing configurations, which are significantly different from Ferrari's. Yes, it's still a FPC engine. No, it's not the same kind of FPC crank as Ferrari's, and the exhaust is unlike any other. Trying to say they're the same is to mislead because they aren't.

I don't understand the resistance to learning what it is that you've got or the ease in accepting wrong/incomplete information and using that as a basis to brag.

The single most unique thing about the voodoo (and ferarri/mclaren V8s) is the flat plane crank itself. So if someone calls it ferarri-like, well that really isnt a stretch since that is the single most common version of the motor out there.

And it certainly is a key differentiater for the car, as it is now the sole N/A FPC V8 you can buy in a brand new car. And if im not mistaken, the only NA V8 currently in production that revs past 8k RPM. These things dont win keyboard races, but they certainly win smiles when you actually drive the car

Now you may like your sledge hammer chevy motors, but to try to knock down what ford has accomplished with the voodoo solely based on not being a copy paste of the ferarri V8s is a bit silly.

Silly is over-reaching to find examples for comparison. I think the word 'elitist' was mentioned earlier . . .

I'm not knocking what Ford did, though I certainly am suggesting that there was a better way to do it at least from a technical standpoint. Do you know something about primary and secondary imbalance forces and moments that I perhaps don't?

An engine doesn't know or care whose logo it carries, and as long as its operating envelope and the rest of the powertrain suits the intended use neither do I.

From what I've read the 1LE will clean house. Limp mode is razing it's ugly head. Even some track cars are having issues. The base and tech cars can't handle the laps.
Go to the tread and read for yourself .
Explain how it will clean house, clean house is a sweep, are you saying the new 1le will also beat the R model? Here's a hint, it wont. GM touted it's 3 seconds faster than a gen 5 1LE, not a gen 5 z28 which is still faster than the new 1Le.

Have you driven one? Do you value the visceral aspect of driving a car? It has nothing to do with being an elitist and everything to do with fully enjoying the car. Ford went out of their way to create something unique and absolutely hit it out of the park.

From a technical standpoint, dual clutch type transmissions (PDK/DCT/etc) are the most efficient way to change a gear, that doesn't mean I want one for this car?

And if you don't car about the logo on the engine, why do you care about what others compare it to?

That's true if your buying decision is only based on one factor.
It is actually two, price and performance! Even if the 1le clocks faster than a gt350, some people are still going to buy the gt350. Their reasoning might be neither price nor performance, it might be the looks, the feeling you get out of driving, owning the amazing 5.2 fpc, having a rare limited production vehicle, and contributing to their ford community.

I think camaro is just offering an economical track ready car for specific buyers, who really care about performance for the amount of money they pay, and gm brand loyalty.

It is kinda sad that we are even comparing a gt350 to a regular camaro ss here. If Ford had the weights right on the s550's, we wouldn't even have this thread. Instead it would be mustang gttp vs camaro 1le.

The ONLY reason why Chevy is now offering a cheaper track Camaro is because Ford hit them with a double whammy!
1) The gt350 beat their top dog Z28
2) The gt350 is a lot less money then the Z28

It's called aFORDable. Just like Henry's always done for years!
Imagine how the Z28 owners feel now knowing even a cheaper version of their own brand is as fast as its more expensive brother.

1) Beat a last gen car.
2) True. Can't make an argument here.

Once again. I doubt people that can afford a Z/28 care and could easily sell it and buy a GT350 or 1LE.

Don't bite. He is upset that Ford never released official performance #'s on the GT350 so he cancelled his order and bought a 2016 Camaro SS....Hence his writing style now:D

It all started with the Boss 302, and Zl1, then z28, 1le, chevy comes swinging, Ford responded with the gt350, and now its chevy's turn again! But yes z28 is old news due to being an old gen camaro.

The 1le is not going to come close to touching a track pack or R.
