Had an 07 GT premium before and loved the inside...however I'm not sure I want to spend the extra $ for the premium. This will just be a toy for the next 2-3 years and ill be selling/upgrading to a newer car. not sure i want to spend the extra $2k+ for a depreciating asset(ill save it for the next car). Plus for me its all about the 5 liter. what are your opinions for me guys?

Things I want out of the premium: Mainly the leather and maybe the center gauges.

Things I don't really care about: the touch screen and different rear bumper...not sure If im missing any other heavy hitters.

I hated starting another one of these threads but I could not find the one I saw a few weeks ago...sorry in advance. and please dont make this into a poor people vs premium master race thread.

From what I know the center gauges are available in the base models as well as long as you get the Performance Package. The leather is only available in the premium.

But if you dont want any of the other options from the premium you could get a base PP and then just add leather after. Custom leather will only cost you $1500 or so installed and from what I hear companies like Katzskin are actually better quality then the facory leather.

Yea, I think I can do without the gauges. I rather have the better MPGs and $ left over to buy rims different than the PP rims (not that they dont look good)

Base package still doesn't receive ambient lighting either, correct?

I would recommend that you (i) test drive both to experience the difference in options, and (ii) build and price both on the Ford website to see the options and differences.

Then you can decide what the hills to die on are for you.

Base should be good for you then.

that tiny 4" screen was enough to steer me away from a base, the leather, big screen, heated and cooled seats worth the upgrade

I daily drive my car, and I wanted the base. Technology means nothing to me. Leather looks like crap after years of daily driving, no matter how well you take care of it. I bought the car for the powertrain. As long as I can get the radio and use my CD's I'm good. If you buy a base you can buy a set of take off leather covers for about $500 and swap them. Use the money towards your next car or some mods. There was no way I was spending $4k+ for the premium.

There's a million opinions on this. I went from a premium 12 GT to a 15 base GT with only performance package and I couldn't be happier.

+1,000,000

I spent months in analysis before deciding exactly what I wanted for my order: a GT350, or a '15 base with Enhanced Security and Performance Package. I specifically did NOT want much of what the Premium offered (the gimmicky stuff) and I didn't care for the leather. The GT350 wasn't going to be available for another year, and I had already waited 3 years on rumours of the S550, so I went for the GT-PP for the track/street.

Perfect. For me.

Ill admit the screen on the base is pretty tiny haha...but once again, I just need a radio, stickshift and 5 liter. Really the only thing I truly want, is the leather but I think I can go without it. Also did not know the leather seats were heated/cooled...I can totally understand guys going for premium on that alone. Luckily I live in a pretty mild part of the world.
