At the uppermost part of the Area where the plus and minus sign are located you cannot shift.
I saw that too. At that point the whole paddle twists instead of pulling straight back. I find that just at the top of the upper cutout is the highest you can go and still shift.
It's not the extension but the plastic paddle mechanism itself. I'd love to find an entire paddle replacement in aluminum like these extensions.

Probably has something to do with the button location as well...

If I find my paddles coming loose or falling off, I'll be all over your solution above-->

The paddles aren't supposed to engage from the top, they are best used at the 2 and 10 positions, so I'm not worried about twisting. I installed mine using the 3M outdoor tape. I test fit them several times adding tape strips until there was no movement. Then I pressed firmly and held it for a minute and it stayed on without an issue. Drove around all day and used them without issue.

The 10 and 2 position only works if you're going in a straight line. If you're in a curve and want to shift up or down, even if your hands are at 10 and 2 the paddles may not be. A solid aluminum paddle assembly would be stiff enough to shift (engage the shift button) even from the very top.

The way I hold the wheel my hands generally stay at 10 and 2 so ill shift before entering a turn and then as I exit when Im almost through the apex.. I don't use them in normal driving just when the roads get a bit twisty for some fun. I can understand your point though but when using them today I didn't have any issue with them not shifting

For those who successfully installed the extensions and are happy with them. Which tape did you use? or which glue? Thanks

I wanted a thin (keeps paddle extensions in closer contact to paddles) narrow gap between the sides of glue, like most dual sided sponge tape + strength of adhesion.

I purchased mine at an auto body supply for around $12.00, should last me a few years.

Now i must buy the 3M tape first to install.

we need a kit to put the paddles on the column

i already hit the factory paddles by accident with my leg while letting the wheel work itself out, i would not be interested in making the paddles larger.

paddles + column mount = win

That would certainly be awesome! They have a kit like that from Hurst I believe for previous ver of Camaros and Dodges from what I saw, will have to find it again.
