Yea, for now we only have this 2 players. Wait can be good, Diode dynamics listend to what we said and they are now working on a brighter solution so we can use them as DRL.

Cannigia's product is already designed for that.

So, even when a new player is coming, we'll still have the same solution and same products. DRL = Bright lights, Parking = Dimmed lights, Turn = Sequential turn ! :D

Just, not to blame DD, they have really good products (a lot of bulbs on my car cames from them), but seems they have some issues with their DRL products.

See here in their section : http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25804&page=11

And sadly, I've also this issue on my car ... :(

I did read that about the problems over in that area earlier tonight, that is not good for you. Maybe this is the reason for the delay, and they need to solve this first:shrug:

I am not good at waiting at the moment, I must have used up most of my patience waiting 14 months for my car to arrive:)

But for now unless I make them myself or get someone here to make them then I will have to be patient, hopefully DD do have these available soon, or if they decide this market is not big enough maybe Caniggia will sell his version. Sending my lights to the other side of the world is not an option.

Earlier tonight ... Hey, it's mid-afternoon ... LOL , just kidding :D

Oh WOW, 14 month is a long waiting time :eyebulge:
My 6 month waiting have already made me crazy :headbonk:

Yeah that's not a good thing with the boards. Hope it will be solved soon...
One thing to remember : Don't put the drivers inside your lights ! :frusty:

I advice you not to do it yourself, I tried it, and I have broken one of my lights ...

Yes, sending your lights all over the world is not a good solution, hope someone in you area will be able to provide stuff like this. Or buy a "good working" set by DD and have someone who can install it on your car.

John,

I am with you on the DRL - its a bit confusing trying to sort it out and to determine what we can get done at a reasonable price to fix our cars.

I'm also hoping that BoostDesigns may be able to do this.

I have searched for the DD video on opening the lights, can you put up a link to it? At them moment I don't plan on doing it myself but curious to see how it is done by them. I believe boostdesigns uses a heat gun and patience to open them.

Thanks Shane,

that was pretty much what I expected they did, but good to actually see the process. I don't think I have the balls to put the headlights from my shiny new Mustang into an oven and then wreck the edge like they did with a screwdriver, you see the join in the Mustang with the bonnet open. I think I will leave that for Woody at Boostdesign.

That's a fair comment mate. No one like to wreck their brand new car. Specially when you waited for bloody 12 or more months to get it. :):)

They are DEFINITELY not bright enough ! And the new version they are working on is still not available, so the version FrozenPea have in his hands should be the first version DD was selling.

When you light they up on a desk they seem to be bright but in headlights they are not bright !

Gnome, the link you posted about Caniggia's mod, it was not to made the boards brighter, he simply add the sequential turn fonction to the Boards (that's the boards I have on my car).

See here the difference between DD LED's and Caniggia's LED : http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1008111&postcount=140

Caniggia's LEDs are much brighter !

You guys have me so confused. DD say their LEDs in these DRL boards are already brighter than stock. Can you post a comparison of the DD & stock LEDs? I want mine to look like the stock North American DRLs.

For the DRL's bulb, you can buy this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Konik-P13W-...r-FT86-GT-MY15-WRX-STI-FORESTER-/121355905937

A lot of Guys in the EU and UK bought this bulb and it fit perfectly in place.

yellowpony, Gnome, That's exactly what I tried on my car, I put the lights in an oven and ... the plastique melt a bit !!! :frusty: :frusty:
Also tried with an heat gun, the lights don't want to open !
The permaseal is really hard to remove ...

And you'll definitely wreck the edge and the lights would have the same rendering as on DD's video ...

Sorry mate, no comparison done with the OEM board of an US 'Stang. As we don't have it on our cars and I don't have someone in my area with an US car...

Yes, I saw that on their website, that their boards are brighter as the OEM version, but again, now that they're installed on my car, they're don't be that bright ...

Yes, they look really nice, but on our cars we also have the rear fog light in this light...
So, not possible for our cars ...

Sorry mate ...

John Did you use fan forced oven or the conventional oven. Apparently all the DD and others retro guys recommend conventional oven not fan forced. Just curious.

It was an fan forced oven... Maybe that was the problem ?
I also used an heat gun, and nothing changed on the lights.

But after a few time, and seeing the broken aspect of my light, I gave up and put the light back on the car... And to finish, bought a new light to replace the broken one ...
