So a 1SS base is around $38k. Add the $7k (Estimated) for the 1LE and another $1800 for PDR. That puts you at ~$46,800. Give yourself $2800 of a discount. So for $44,000 you can be in a really great pony car. However, is a base 350 worth an additional $6,000? For me, the answer is yes. I would not fault someone for saying no, however. The Voodoo is worth the extra money just by itself, imo.

They are actually brand new GY's that are designed specifically for the 1LE. New tread pattern/compound etc. The pics I saw show they look more like th PSS than the GY F1 G2.

Very interested to see some times. They do say it laps 3 seconds faster than the SS, which is VERY impressive.
Good point. I went back and re-read everything again.

The 1LE package is $3500 which would put the discount price of $38K. You can't get PDR on a mustang in any flavor. You can't get mag ride on a base 350.
Like I said the GT500 can't come soon enough to compete with the Z/28 soon to hit the market or ZL1.

How does the 1LE look much different then the SS ? Except for the rear spoiler. SS comes with mag ride.
The 1LE is a performance option, NOT an appearance package. If random people on the street - or even the appearance-oriented segment of the enthusiast community - can't recognize it for what it is from the few clues that it does have, why would you care about their opinion? Knowing what you've got (and that lots of people don't know) ought to suffice.

What I don't think anybody has mentioned here yet is that they're offering a 1LE package on the V6 level as well.

GT500 is not a competitor to the Z28. Never has been.

ZL1, yes.

Wait... there is no word on the new 1LE pricing yet. And I have a feeling it'll be higher than $3500.

And I do hope they have this purple color available... or is it just the lighting here?

The next GT500 will compete with the next track Camaro , call it whatever you want. The 350 is yesterday's track car. Just like the Boss 302 because the boys over @ GM are serious.
The new chassis will give GM so many more options to engineer one hell of a track car. The Corvette will not stand in the way of the next Camaro. This ride should be great for Ford and Chevy.

1LE are not common to see. I get excited when I see them in the wild. I instantly have more reprect for a 5GC 1LE when I come across one. They really weren't pushed that hard from a marketing perspective.

The offering of it on the V6 and 1SS is a good idea in my opinion.

Yesterday's?? C'mon now.... the R's have barely even hit the track yet.

And Ford Performance isn't serious? I like (and own) both marques and also anticipating the next Z/28... but those comments of yours are quite biased. ;)

Okie dokie. If you say so.....

LOL @ 350 is yesterday's track car........Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Your Camaro/GM bias is shining through and very brightly, I might add.

I doubt there will be a Z/28 in the sense we're thinking, it'll probably be similar to the Corvette where they combine the ZR1/Z06.

I agree his comments are a bit superfluous, but if the R's are still having a tough time being shipped out in the spring, that's a complete and utter failure.

Sorry but I can't get excited about a 4.3 and 12.4 not talking R here. So what that I've moved over for awhile. I'll be back soon. The best bang for the buck gets my money. I also heard the Voodoo @ the Rolex 24 and the Boss 350R sounded better IMO. Even the Ford GT V/6 sound didn't excite.

The New Camaro, from what I've read, is a pretty good car. Now they have released the 1LE version. Does this spell trouble for the GT350?

Personally I don't think so. The Z/28 should be really good however.

More info.

I'm a Mustang guy for life, but the new Camaro is extremely impressive. The new Camaro SS blows the doors off the new Mustang GT. The last 1LE was quicker around a track than a Boss 302 (and will be signficantly quicker than the new GT). I guess whether or not you should be worried comes down to what you intend to do with the car. If you're a straight line guy, the new Camaro SS is probably as quick as the GT350 and the 1LE will be quicker, still. Around a road course, I think the 350 will be quicker, but not by much. Once a new Z/28 comes out, the 350 will probably be irrelevant.

Yeah that's my fear as well... I kinda have that gut feeling that GM will drop the LT4 into the next ZL1 or Z/28. Not excited about that... I'd rather have them reveal an all-motor powerplant in the next Z/28, if it even happens at all.

1SS 1LE MSRP $40K VS. 350 track pack.MSRP $56K. Now the Camaro can be had with a discount. Real #'s $38000 Camaro. VS $61000 350. The Z28 next year will force Ford to bring back the GT500.
A new Z28 will force Ford to upgrade the GT350. The GT500 is a competitor to the ZL1/Hellcat.
