What do I need for processing if I plan to replace everything but the NAV HU?

I have the following that I hope to hook up to the factory nav unit (non-shaker system):

Helix Blue B One Amplifier (950 watts x 1 at 1 ohm)
Helix Blue B Two Amplifier (120 watts x 2 at 2 ohms)
JBL P660C 6.5" Components
FI Q 12" 2ohm DVC Subwoofer

However I'm confused on what I need for processing. Seems like most of you guys are just adding an amplifier and sub. I haven't seen too many people replace all the speakers and amp.

I have the following from previous builds
AudioControl LC2I Line-out Converter
JBL MS-8

That MS-8 should work just fine... take the front/rear outputs from the head unit to feed the MS-8 and let it do it's thing.

Follow this thread for info on plug/pin #'s from the head unit;

Another good option for a DSP is the Minidsp C 6x8. The MS8's aren't made anymore and have a reputation for being kind of finicky. A lot of people do love them though.

Would that be all I need?

That and somebody to properly tune it. I don't believe the MiniDSP has an "auto-tune" type function like the MS-8 has.

Thanks for that. I have bookmarked that page in case I go this route. I am so undecided what to do with the stereo at the moment.
Oh I hear ya! I was all set to buy a miniDSP 6x8 but got a smoking deal on a new in box Helix DSP Pro, so I jumped on it. The UMIK-1 will also work with the Helix, so I'm good there...

Any of you guys have any tips for removing the head unit?
I have searched but cant find any threads related to getting it out.

I have a little project I want to try that involves getting it out of the dash.

Ouch! Can't help with that one, but if you manage to get it out, take lots of pics and post a how-to. Good luck!
