Anyone planning epic road trips with the new Mustang?

I have persuaded my wife to come on a road trip from WA to the east - including Tassie. Take our time and work our way to Tassie Sydney and Queensland. Maybe truck it back or go round the top.
That is if it ever arrives.....:frusty:

Yes mines also got tax deductibility. Should get about 4K back on GST

Yeh I'd love to do the ROAD trip but I'd be scared of the dreaded flat tyre as well as the bill for da tow !!

Yes good point - I have not had a flat in 15 years at least but I would want a spare for a trip like that....
Anyone know if there is a space saver wheel available?

i would be more worried about a roo or camel hitting me crossing from perth, hated crossings in a landcruiser no way in a mustang, enjoy that!

Yes we were in my son's 64 Mustang convertible and we stopped for fuel in some small town before the Nullarbor at 5 pm and the proprietor asked "so you will be staying the night here then" - while admiring the 64 red Mustang. Nah we are big city types - drive through the night get to Adelaide.
Well we got about 5 k out and the roos were everywhere dumb as bricks - would not move until you drove right at them and pushed them with the bumper! Gave up and crawled back at 10 kms ph.
I will not be driving at night at all.

Heading south from Brisbane next weekend for the Bathurst 12 hour race.

It was supposed to be a Mustang road trip, but my buddies Mustang is still in Baltimore!

Oh well, we can fit more camping gear into his Nissan. We will take turns driving my Mustang there and back!

Hardly epic but plan to take the stang to Great Ocean Road here in Vic. Be nice to see how it handles the curves.

Was planning to go up through the centre to Darwin (where I met my missus), across to Cairns and back down the coast but that trip needs at least six weeks and I don't have the leave just yet. Going to do Tassie in November instead.

Over the weekend I did complete a large road trip up through the mountains in Victoria, taking on some very narrow and windy roads. What I noticed about the car

• It felt rather heavy in the corners
• The brakes are amazing
• The Renault club of Victoria all stopped to come have a look at the Mustang
• Did I mention it was way too wide for the roads?
• It hauls like a freight train

Wes planning on taking the Mustang to Bathurst this weekend but suspect it will sit around on the docs in Melbourne for a while longer. Will be driving up on Sunday so would be nice to see your cars guys in the flesh as have not seen one yet. Pm if parking somewhere for a look at your cars if you like.
