Well the last time I shipped 4000+ cars around the planet, I cant even remember anymore, so I'm not going to argue about things I have no idea about.
This has been my point all along, we do not know, but so many making assumptions on how easy it is.

Just because they are mustangs cant mean customs can only process 50 a week or whatever the number is, (yes Quick Duck im sure its the wrong number)
You do realise I am not pedantic and undertand 'or watever the number is' no need to be snide.

When they pump out thousands of other models of cars to stock dealers around Australia, im sure that happens at a greater rate than 100 cars per car carrier. The bottle neck is being caused by something else.
Yes, there is a bottleneck and we are left in the dark. Thats ok, it's frustrating, and obviously Ford isn't going to be upfront as to why, so everyone needs to chill out and wait. Why stress over something that you cannot change?

Ford US have stated that the entire 2017 build allocation is ordered for AU. Its only a 6 month wait for NZ orders though.
You didn't mention that US Customs would need to also stop inspections to prioritse these cars, likelihood of that happening = zero

WWL delaying other customer bookings to dedicate for those 4000? I doubt they can even book them until passing customs. Chances = zero.

Logistics of this process is so simple, build - ship - deliver.... unless you are the company relying on 3rd party suppliers and government agencies that run to their own timetables, not one group of end customers.
Oh I don't disagree Ford US should do more RHD builds, and their claim they were surprised isnt really true, they had enough preorders to identify they were going to fall short in their planned build allocations.

But they cannot control the wait at the ports, for customs or for space on a ship. If your car is stuck at the ports, stop complaing to Ford and email the Baltimore ports, they are the only ones that control it.

If you want to know more about who to contact .. http://mpa.maryland.gov/content/roro.php
That thought doesn't make sense. The cost to ship is the same, regardless if they do as you infer and purposefully choose to delay cars being loaded.

WL is the largest RoRo shipping company in the world and has had a huge impact on expansion for the port of baltimore.
Just realised, I dont know enough about this to justify arguing with everyone.

Its very unlikely anyone here has shipped commercial quantities of cars anywhere. But we are all 'in the same boat' SWIDT? and are venting frustrations with the lack of information/logic involved in the whole process.

Its been the same since they started building the things, no point stirring the pot by going against everyone here haha.

huge list of quotes, what was the point you are trying to make? I have no idea where that last one came from, was it even related to this discussion?

If others are allowed to express their opinions and assumptions, aren't I allowed to counter those with my own thoughts?

As to stiring the pot, how am I doing that? Again, my opinions are valid and I am happy to intelligently discuss with anyone, but I will point out things like all those quotes you dilligently copied and pasted in, even if they are polar opposite to others.

Project management, previous business owner dealing with suppliers and logistics.... I can visualize possible processes needed to be acheived by Ford, so yes I am providing you all with an educated opinion, better than the guessing and assumptions being made. Not pot stiring, just a different and valid opinion.

OK mate. If you don't want to read back and see where all the BS started in this thread with your comments that's up to you.

Just an example.

Last I heard, car spaces cost money on docks, quite alot, so the the cost would likely not be the same. Its arguments like this that don't make sense, but you need to make sure someone is 'wrong' constantly.

Have a think about it.

I'm done with it now, I'm not on the forum for this :)

wow and here I thought I was taking part in a discussion.

But since you don't appreciate someone pointing out holes in your half baked concepts on how Ford should be running their business, I will ignore your posts from now on as being an ignorant whinger. Yes, it was that post that where your so called BS started. Happy times :paddle:

I hate to say Ol chap but you have just shown how much of a dick you are - just can't help to have the last stab or whinge. Let alone none of your arguments are based on any credible evidence other "than what you have heard"

Too many rumors are started on the "interwebs" by ignorant people spreading "facts" that they've heard, without backing it up with any substantial evidence

Intelligent conversations do not include becoming defensive when others question an unsubstantiated claim. This thread is ridiculous

Odered mine in Nov 15 and was advised by FoA via facebook of NSC which indicates a late Q3/earlier Q4 2016 build.

They (FoA via facebook) quote approx 90 days from build to "keys in your hand".
Hey Goldman,

How did you get your NSC number from FoA. When I asked them, they said that, "The NSC number is provided to you from your Dealership, if you are able to get this from them (either your salesperson or the Dealership Stock Controller) we will be happy to see what details that we have"

Help me in getting my NSC number. I ordered mine on 16 OCT 15

That's MR Goldman thanks..... just kidding. :)

I just asked them what the normal waiting time was between ordering and receiving the NSC number.

They advised it depended on spec and asked for details.

I advised dealer name, body type, engine type, transmission type, colour, wheels, OTT stripes or not.

They replied "...we chased this up for you and actually obtained your NSC....."

Note : The people on the FoA facebook sign off with their initials. In my experience "JS" seems to try a little harder than "CZ"

haha! "JS" is the one who gave me some info, but I already had my NSC and just wanted more info. No VIN yet though, they (Ford AU FB) said ask mid feb, so ill try that.

Krishv88, Id ask your dealer for your NSC, if they cant give it to you yet, just try later. Once they can give you your NSC then ford can give you info using the NSC (although limited).
It just seems like you need to provide alot of info to get your NSC through ford au on facebook, where as the dealer has all they info, they can do the chasing!

It was interesting that when I contacted my dealer and asked them if the info I had obtained (my NSC number) was correct they said that the NSC was showing up against their dealer code but it had no name attached. From that I determine that of all the orders my dealer has, I have the only one with my exact spec..... FINALLY a 1 of 1 !!
