Is it me or does it actually change the sound of the exhaust?

Also at 70 in 6th and then accelerate it sounds like the Eurostar heading for 180.

Surely you shouldn't be going any faster than 70 ;)

Hi there

I am driving the car soley in race mode now, as the throttle response in normal and sport is too subdued for my liking.

The reason the car sounds louder is because in say normal mode with throttle at 25% position your only getting maybe 20% throttle, whereas in sport mode you will be getting say 25% and in race 30%. So the car revs quicker which in turns makes things louder.

Also the TC system works great in race mode, it allows for some nice drifts as I found out this morning on a wet roundabout, I am very impressed with how well the car controls well a controlled skid. :D

To be honest I was testing grip limits, one of my test roundabouts where I go real crazy in the M3.

Basically very light throttle and let speed build slowly and gradually, so when grip runs out to see what happens.

This is how it happened for me:
Stage 1: Mild understeer, apply more steering lock and the front-end re-bites.
Stage 2: Modulate a little extra throttle, car holds a small angle and feels very planted.
Stage 3: Car increases angle and can feel the differential working well, car holds angle well.
Stage 4: Gently ease out of power, car straightens.

If you know what you are doing, pick your location so if goes wrong your hitting nothing and of course no one else on the road around you it is safe and the only thing at risk is your own pride.

Better to find the limits yourself, then you finding the limits by surprise and not knowing what to do.

Best of all get on a track day or a drift day, nothing beats that. :)

Handy to have, my local skid patches are Donnington and Outlon Park race circuits which I find myself at a lot surprisingly. :)

Donnington is nice, this ones just a 'turn up and use' thing, you can ask for an instructor to help you and they give you a fiesta to skid around and what not, but not partcularly my style, much prefer to just go after it closes (they leave the gates open) and go for a skid myself.

we had a mustangforum.uk drift day and silverstone --- didn't end well.

Clip below is the night before with our tame latvian drift king Trotsky showing the local ricers how to drift. we went to milton keynes for a curry, spotted them in a car park. got in trotsky stang, drove over, three 40 your old differs got out and then he did this, he stopped we got back in and pissed off while they stared open mouthed

on the day
