Who else on here has been able to leverage their wife's hobbies to their advantage for mods? My wife just discovered a new cross stitch store in our town and gave me the go ahead on the MGW shifter so she could go cross stitch crazy.

My wife and I each have our own "allowance" we can spend on whatever the hell we want to w/o approval from the other. It's a lovely thing to have a little financial freedom within a relationship.

I don't allow my wife to have hobbies. She needs to care for the mule and tend to the crops.
Yeah right. I bet you also strap a four barrel carburetor on that mule and call it a racehorse.

She asked how much i spent on this thing this year

I did a super charger, rims tires, and springs for just under 2 grand
This^^^, lol. If she really knew, she would flip out.
We have seperate accounts and our own group of bills, occasionally we will have to help each other out. We have a deal...pay all the important bills first and if there's left over, fair game for what ever.

We have gotten into arguments in the past over " you bought this so I'm gonna buy that " type situations. Thankfully we have matured over the years and have gotten past this.
My opinion is to not play her Hobbie against yours. Come to an agreement about large purchases and lil mods here and there won't hurt and the truth can be stretched a bit on the cost of those lil mod here and there. Just my opinion.

My husband and I also have our own separate "allowance" accounts that are directly deposited from our paychecks.

He encourages my Mustang hobby. I spend much of my "mad money" taking good care of it and buying it toys. (Spoiler is next.)
He wants to supercharge it this year. :hail:

He never drives it.

I have zero complaints.

I'm lucky, my wife knew I was a car nut before we got married. She doesn't even ask how much I'm paying to buy/sell/mod anymore. She never even saw the 'stang till the day I went to get it after all the mods had been done.

My wife and I have a very traditional type relationship. I handle all the finance stuff so whatever I spend on my car she has no knowledge. So as long as I keep it "under the skin" I can't be caught. Heheh. Next up - upgraded stereo stuff. :)
