Morning Mustang6G!
I bought my Turbo stang in February 2015 and have about 17k on the clock so far. A few weeks ago I noticed increased smoking at idle and decided to get the TSB taken care of as well as the thermal recall.
On the morning of 8 January 2016 I walked into my local Ford dealership (Surprise Arizona) to get information about the recall and TSB. He said that the computer did not show a TSB for my car but they could do the recall and they had the parts on hand. I produced a hard copy of the TSB and let them look at the car. They determined that it was indeed smoking and they ordered the parts for the TSB (2-3 days)
On Tuesday 12 January 2016 I dropped off the Mustang in the morning after confirming that all the parts were on hand. He told me that it would be a full days job best case and a day in a half on average. Luckily, I have two other vehicles that the wife and I could use. I told him that I would come by early on Thursday January 14th 2016.
This morning I picked up the car without any scratches, with ONE mile added to the odo, and a whole bunch of parts added/replaced for free of charge.
9/10 would absolutely do it again. (10/10 if they were open later for pick up!)
attached is the invoice for your viewing pleasure.
People like to throw around horror stories, but my experience was timely professional and I even got a few free donuts out of it! Thanks Suprise Ford!
