I'll let you know, but have you tried G2s? I noticed a huge improvement with them switching from 285 to 305 rear, I've had a couple sets so far. Also doesn't the Roush stage 3 use 275/35/20 Cooper tires? Also the 20" factory tires only are 265, super slim and I think that's what Bruce is using and braking loose at 50.
Correct, I have stock 20" Foundry wheels and P tires. They are worthless and can break loose at 80 as well when shifting from 3rd to 4th - which gets your attention:eyebulge:! I plan to run Mich Pilot Super Sports in 315/35/20. Just waiting on my wheels to come in. I've thought about the DRs like Mickeys but concerned with wet conditions and driving down the highway. I've had a wreck once on the highway due to hydroplaning and I don't want to repeat that. Living in Texas, storms can pop up unexpected and it can dump a lot of rain fast.

Part of me wants a S/C and another says "what's the point, when you can't keep the tires from spinning?".

Can a road tune not set the torque demand just on the safe side of the tires traction? In other words, if you're spinning at a certain speed and RPM, turn the boost back a bit until you have traction. Keep repeating for all gears where traction's an issue.

Some may say that's what the throttle is for (ie. modulate boost with your foot), but Id' rather the car do that when at WOT ... give me all you've got until traction is lost.

Get that dialed in on the street and you may not have a dyno # queen but you'd be the fastest on the street.

It very manageable with Whipple's tune, you can lower the power in each gear if you need to.

Hmmmm can you apply Whipple tune to the VMP blowers that we are talking about? If Whipple can do that, can't the VMP tuners also?

Whipple has a Ford engineer doing their calibration.

Here is the final dyno pull done today on a dynojet and it was around 80 today here in Texas. Sorry for the crappy pics. The final was 564WHP/530TQ. I'm a bit bummed that it didn't get in the 600s as that is what VMP said it would and they claim that and more in their videos. It runs great and pulls strong.

Yeah man that blower does look like a good unit BUT in my opinion, it will not out power the whipple 2.9 blowers simply because it's smaller. For more money the whipple would be the better option. I'd love to see some Gen2R results too other than just VMP's race car.
There are so many variables when it comes to supercharging your car. The Gen II-R from VMP will take your 5.0 over 1000hp given the proper motor modifications. Will the Whipple out perform the new VMP-R blower… I am not sure. That is why Justin spends so much time working on air flow.. More airflow means more power.. The design of the blowers play a big part in how well they perform, with people seeing close horsepower numbers with the previous GEN-II 9 times out of 10 making more torque through the curve than the Whipple. The Gen II-R blower should be on several cars soon, including my car.

They are both great blowers. On the 1/4 mile fast list BMR Tech is 3rd on the list with a VMP GEN II blower. The VMP-R blower would be a big upgrade to that already fast car.. There are Whipple cars on the list. I think they start around 12th.

When you say blower only, do you mean the only power adder? Does it belong to a member?

Correct. He has plans to spray the car as well. Not sure if he is a member on here or not.

KenB just built and tuned that Whipple car and that was the very first time at the track.
