I know there are a few people on here looking for a base R. I came across one on Bring a Trailer with 1700 miles currently at 58k with 18 hours left. I know nothing about the history of the car, but they post the VIN and dash plaque is GR213.

That's a very clean car, he had it on Ebay last month with a BIN of 75K, no sale.

Does this site have a reserve? Something tells me that this car isn't going to sell for 58K.

Yes,if not it will BAT will indicate "no reserve" in listing. Really a great site to list interesting cars, and the comments can be priceless at times.. They have a feature that if there's a bid at the end they extend the auction by two minutes every time someone bids..gives folks a second(and sometimes sixth or seventh)chance to win it. I've seen some cars double in price in that fashion, not going to happen on this one though.

“A $50k dealer mark-up was added when new, and the dealership’s window sticker lists a total price of $114,345.”

Ouch

$58k seems cheap to me for an almost new GT350R. Is that what you mean?

It has a reserve. I think he was on the FB group looking for "a lot" more than $58k. Medical issues have forced him to sell. IF I am remembering things correctly.

I thought that was a typo however, apparantly that's correct. Which leads me to the question how can anyone be stupid enough to pay $ 50k markup for any Ford, excluding the GT ?

I'm hoping, for his sake, that's just what the window sticker(s) say and he actually negotiated a better price.

The comments are pure treasure. What a bunch of snobby and/or ignorant cum dumpsters. Granted I think the owner is a little looney, the comments make owner look like a saint.

And GT's didn't have markup since the cars were managed through Ford Performance Concierge Services.

The 2005 and 2006 cars certainly had markups.

;)
Not sure that mattered because quite a few were selling below msrp, I remember seeing them on sale for $115k NEW. The dealers couldnt get them off the lot, this was during 07/08. Initially marked up sky high (in 05/06), then a couple years after the price was going lower and lower, $150 > $140 > $130 > $120/115k.

Now the prices are insane, insane because even a salvage titled FGT is over 100k.

That R is nice, too bad its black :(

Those cars were on dealer lots. The new ones will NEVER hit a dealership floor until it has been configured, signed for, money exchanged, and built. The dealership is nothing more than a landing pad and service garage, that SPECIFIC dealership (since your dealership of your choosing gets a custom makeover specifically to service your GT). They are completely controlled by Ford Motor Company.
