Just a reminder, I'm looking for anybody who does not have the stock tires/wheels to post their G-force max forward acceleration from the dash display (after resetting it) on dry un-prepped asphalt, temperature they tested, as well as their rear tire size/model.

Mine was 0.80 G forward with my MPSS 325/30R19 at 80-degrees, dry unprepped asphalt, no burnout, 35 psi.

Thanks!

Thanks gqneon! You did exactly what I was hoping everybody would do, post their forward acceleration G-forces, rear tire size/model, surface tested (ideally unprepped asphalt), and temp.

Here's a summary of your results from what I can tell:

Nitto 555 G2 street tires 305/30R20 - concrete surface with no prep - 0.75 G

Nitto 555R drag radials 305/35R20 - concrete surface with no prep, no burnout, tire pressure 26psi - 0.86 G

Nitto 555R drag radials 305/35R20 - prepped asphalt at track, with burnout - 0.97 G

This tells me that the 555R with no prep is still better than my MPSS since my tire is wider but 0.06 less G force than your tire (assuming you tested around 80 degrees). I suppose I can also drop my rear tire to 26 psi and retest to confirm I don't pick up 0.06 G. 555R also has some grooves to attempt to prevent hydroplaning.

If anybody else wants to post similar numbers, we can try to figure out the best tire for Mustang acceleration.

I dont have any trips to the track but...

275/40/19 Continental DSW06 All seasons 35PSI
.77 acceleration
.89 braking
1.13 lateral G

all on the street with no prep and its COLD out here. I swear they are even better in the rain somehow. I wish they made a 305

I found this video of a Roush phase 2 car on 'wet' pavement with Nitto NT05R 305/35R19:

Basically, no traction with the DR. This is why I don't want DR if they are not much better (maybe they are much better only with a burnout) on dry non-prepped asphalt roads than my tires. I live where it is wet 4/10 days. I did get a 0.83 G forward acceleration at 34 PSI today somehow at around 80 degrees out.

Man they have access to super secret tire technology that us regular folks will never see

it has an engine!
People expect way too much from a summer tire. Hahah

You don't get your cake and get to eat it too with them.

Nokian makes some bad ass tires for the snow/ice. They have videos of modded audis racing across frozen lakes at over 200mph.

Info is dubious unless you include tread depth... or info relative to number of heat cycles or if used in summer yet.
Ambient and ground temps for test conditions would be hugely useful.
Surface camber of the turn used to get the peak lateral G makes a huge difference.
Take turn 7 at TWS. I could get an oil light flicker there on GT on NT01 w stock pan (admittedly a light shy on oil).
Trofeos pull 1.7g dynamic there but really stead flat max on that setup is way way lower.

All correct - I didn't get a chance to run my 555R's in the rain before I swapped back to winter tires (555 G2's anyhow - for Texas "winter"). I believe that the NT05R drag radials have a terrible reputation in the rain. I think that's what Jeff Ashton had on his S550 whipple car when he crashed it in the rain.

That being said - DR's aren't meant for wet weather. But I believe the 555R's with some tread depth remaining they will fare better in NORMAL AND SANE wet weather driving. They are patterned much like the G2 and with some tread depth should do some reasonable water channeling. But if you drive like you stole it on wet streets, bad things happen regardless of which tire, especially when your margin for error for standing water is made so small with thin tread depth. Just my opinions on that.

Oh - those pulls were in November at night, so no warmer than 70 degrees or so air temp - and probably similar surface temps.

DRs ARE better when it comes to traction on the street or the track.

Got grip?

In Texas summer tires usually are all we need to use, but when it snows? I had no trouble with flat spotting in 37 degree weather three days in a row. Corpus Christi got 7 inches so I am told.
