I had made that statement before i found out the zl1 l1e are also running very hot. Ls and lt engines are far from bullet proof. People swap them because their chassis is inferior and the engines are cheap.
I'm referring to people (not driving GM vehicles) swapping in for Chevy engines. Why would drag racers (like the ones on Street Outlaws) who spend tons of coin on their cars, be swapping in engines for their cheapness?

Let me know when an ls engine has made it to the 5s in pro mod. Only Chevy engine in pro mod I've seen is old Chevy pre ls and lt engines. Some people prefer the Chevy engines because its what they known. Doesn't make it the best tool for the job.
