Not sure if that's ideal when running a ported intake with 47 lbs injectors and an e85 tune . Soon to be a fbo 5.0 last piece of the puzzle is figuring out what intake set up I'm running. All I know is stock is NOT the answerMost typically, for 18+ the stock filter housing and tubing will flow as much air as the engine can ingest and will actually provide cooler air from the front grill. Put your favorite brand panel filter into the stock housing and it's all you'll need.
you're free to believe whatever snake-oil catches your fancy. Aside from packaging considerations where the stock one simply interferes with whatever else you're trying to put in the engine bay, NONE of the CAI have demonstrated any worthwhile merit. All I know is stock is NOT the answer
It looks like it fits pretty good. Did you just need to step away yesterday, regroup and try it again? How would you rate the overall fitment of the fender kit? Would you buy it again or stick with the standard PMAS?Well there she blows.
Definitely the intake I'd get if I were really interested in an intake.Well there she blows.
Yeah I had more time today & I wasn't pushed in far enough on the throttle coupler. I still feel like it kind of gets pushed down a bit when I close the hood, but really hard to tell since you can't see anything from that pov. What I don't like is where the AF sensor sits. I had a stock box so I will update as soon as I run it, figure out how to use this BDX & figure out how to data log, down load tune & all that. I came from an Ngauge so let's hope it's as simple as that.It looks like it fits pretty good. Did you just need to step away yesterday, regroup and try it again? If it works as expected, I'll be happy with it for the next few years until I figure out if I'll go FI or not.Definitely the intake I'd get if I were really interested in an intake.
The fact that the PMAS intake tube would hit my hood blanket and the fan shroud, is one of the reasons why I removed the blanket and modified the fan shroud. The other reason was for additional airflow.Yeah I had more time today & I wasn't pushed in far enough on the throttle coupler. The above was all true until 2021.Most typically, for 18+ the stock filter housing and tubing will flow as much air as the engine can ingest and will actually provide cooler air from the front grill. Put your favorite brand panel filter into the stock housing and it's all you'll need.
I thought about throwing that disclaimer into my statement lol.The above was all true until 2021.
The 2022 and 2023 cars do benefit from intakes.
It's not the blanket statement that it once was.
Yeah it's a bit annoying. I'm sure many are ok with it, but the way I see it, for what things costs, they should fit right. If I knew I had to remove some of my insulation (which I don't believe I have to) I would of stayed with the stock box. But the mod bug bit, & for the little bit of cash I had to burn, this fit the bill. The fact that the PMAS intake tube would hit my hood blanket and the fan shroud, is one of the reasons why I removed the blanket and modified the fan shroud.
