Ok, I'm dumb, please explain tpms to me and how it fits...

Did you put tpms on your aftermarket wheels?

I think you're overthinking this...

You know the valve stem that's on your wheels? Where you fill them up with air?
That goes through a hole in the wheel itself. The tire mounts to the wheel further out along the diameter.

Take a look at the quick image I just made below. The green box represents the TPMS sensor, the red is the valve stem that you put air in. Notice how the tire itself is higher up. There's no hole in the tire, only in the wheel.

Haha thanks guys. So from what I can see here, the tpms isn't in the tire at all. But then

1) How does it read the tire pressure without being in the tire

2) How does that valve blow air into the tire if its not in the tire?!

What exactly do you think is Inside the tire and Outside the tire? Maybe if we can get that straightened out, then we can proceed.

This thread has me ROLLING.

It sits within the pocket

The sensor has a psi garage it transmits this with a frequency 315z to the computer that then reads that

I feel like I should cut my loses and abandon thread.

Omg. I've gone my whole life thinking you inflate the tire. Is that not right?

I've posted too much here to be a troll..

I thought...you're blowing air directly into the tire. Not the space between the wheel and tire..........................I think.

The tire is not an enclosed volume. Have you ever seen a tire not mounted on a rim? It's not like a tube. The air is between the rim and the tire.
