I tried this and still get the splash each time I start the car a 2016. any other ideas???

If you are using an old/slow USB - then you could be waiting 10 or 15 minutes before you get any notification that the upgrade is happening. If your USB has a activity light built into it, then watch to see if it is flashing.

Sync will copy the upgrade files from the USB into itself, which can take some time.... AFTER the copy has been done you then get a message on Sync3 to say "upgrade in progress".

Yeah I just needed to be more patient. Right now sitting in my car and it is installing the update.

Sorry for the ask, but I last upgraded sync to 3.0 back when it wasn't officially available via ford update 1+ years ago. What's the best way to upgrade to the latest build? Wifi or find a place to manually download via usb?

I had to downgrade to the official 2.2 then upgrade to the currrent released build.

How did you backdate to the official Sync 2.2? I did the unofficial update & have now been told from Ford to get the official 3.0, but it won't work. I've tried (2) different USBs & it doesn't seem like my USB port is working. Could it be that the USBs are version 3.0?

I had to downgrade to the official 2.2 then upgrade to the currrent released build.

I tried (Mine has Nav). I couldn't get it to do it. I went through the write ups multiple times but kept getting the error.

Can someone confirm the proper upgrade file is JR3T-14G381-AL for Mustangs?

I've installed the above update. Its rebooted. Given me a message that the update is complete - but the version # remains the same as before when I first upgraded to Sync 3 with android car support.

Somehow, it worked this time... Back on 2.2, (Ford GT theme works on 2.2 after going from leaked 3.0 to official 2.2)
