If you just want a car to go fast in a straight line, a GT with a blower is definitely a viable option.

The GT350 is a completely different car that isn't meant for the 1/4 mile or red light racing. It was built to be a track car.

Plus with modding cars, you are just lighting your money on fire. Trust me, I've wasted a ton. Not that buying a 50k+ sports car is a great idea financially either, but a stock GT350 should hold it's value pretty well compared to other cars.

Nice.. Their dyno reads high though. The 16 SS put down high numbers too on their dyno.

Definitely. Their '16 SS put down 431rwhp on this dyno bone stock.

This is my point 482 on his dyno, but on the "Tuner's" dyno its 448 or so...some thing is not right....

Dyno numbers are never "right". They are what they are.

Dyno numbers are as you say just numbers. They benefit showing what mods + / - on the same engine and for tuning purposes. A lot of times, test and tune days can bring more results in the real world. At least in my experience at the 1/4 mile. Reading spark plugs, data logs and other bits can sometimes bring results.

It's also balls ass cold across most of the country right now. Most of the other dyno runs I've seen were done in warm or hot temperatures.

One of the best ways to test how much power a car is making is by looking at 1/4 mile trap speeds.

Peak dyno numbers are pointless. Just good for dick measuring contests.

It was probably SAE, but yes it would be nice to see to confirm that.

Remember these things are just now hitting the road, so give it some time so you can get an average out of them. K&N's dyno showed 463-472 rwhp on the base and R cars they dyno'd.

I have seen stock C6 Z06 Corvette's make as low as 422 rwhp and as much as 487 rwhp all on the same dyno (dynojet) but averages come in around 455-460 rwhp SAE corrected from their production run of 2006-2013. The two outsiders were just that...a bit of a freak occurrence on both accounts.

Damn that thing just keeps on going forever. You could hear how lame and torque-lacking it was down low though.

man, it maybe im a rock, but that wasn't very impressive for that expensive car. stock gt with a few bolt ons and a whipple would have a lot more than the 350 and the insurance is a hell of a lot cheaper...
I don't know, a rated 526 hp from a naturally aspirated 5.2L that is EPA certified and gets over 20 mpg on the highway is pretty damn amazing. How many other motors out there are making 100hp per litre? That takes care of the power portion.

The rest of the car... what other car has all the tech and has received all the awards as the GT350(R) for less than 65k?

Also it looks with some bolt ons, you could be making 110-115 HP/L
(which is approaching crazy numbers normally aspirated). :D

Makes me wonder what the top side for flow is on the factory heads?

Comparing a car with a power adder makes no sense. How bout this. I don't find your whipple'd GT impressive cause a TT Foxbody would have more power, be faster, and a heck of a lot cheaper. See where this going.

insurance on the GT350 is not much more then a GT. When I went from my GT500 to the GT and I saved a big 10 dollars every 6 months.
