So 526/429. Not too bad.
Indeed, one thing too many people get caught up with is peak numbers, the real "power" comes from total HP under the curve. In this case, that number is immense.

Wow I just listened to it, this sounds perfect! Sure looks like there will not be much need for any aftermarket on this car!!

Nothing special yet
I thought the speculation was that in order to get R parts, you have to have a R serial #? Wonder if that will play out.

I bet those carbon fiber wheels are a lot more than $1k a piece. Hell, my 2 piece wheels are in the neighborhood of $800-900 a piece. I bet they get over an easy $2k per wheel.
The R wheels are carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer right? So to manufacture they should closely approximate to cast plastic / polymer. They don't really compare to wheels made from sheets of (hand or machine laid) carbon-fibre.

I imagine it is the same material they are making the radiator support out of. It is pretty much just a cast polymer, one of the cheapest processes out there. The real genius is in the compound they are using combined with a cheap manufacturing process that will give them the properties they need (strength and weight) to work and to meet emissions and performance goals.

I have a strong feeling (actually I think it is a memory) this is something Ford is going to be using heavily to cut down on weight in all their cars for the 2025 EPA target. I can see the wheels being fairly expensive to begin with, being relatively "exotic", but I think we will see a lot more polymer-CF wheels (and a lot of other parts) on a lot more cars in 10 years.

I love the fact that it sounds both American and European at the same time. Definitely unique.

I'm sure these have been posted somewhere, but I didn't see them.

While I still think they're trying too hard to make it sound at least a bit like a lumpy bent crank V8 rather than a more even bawl of a flat crank motor, it DOES sound great (and no piped in artificial sounds whatsoever (take note BMW))!
