Saw the new Camaro in person and I gotta say...
The front end looks terrible IMO! Maybe I'll get used to it, but the shelby took no getting used to in the looks department. Thing is a work of art and nobody can deny that, not even the Chevy guys.
Agreed, I like the looks of the GT350 the best between the Camaro SS, GT and GT350.

Im not sure what you all are seeing that is bad with the Camaro..I think it looks petty sharp, not even close to the GT350 though, but still nice....I personally like the low side window lines and the hood....the problem with the Camaro is the "kid" mentality of the car..The Mustang, although has all income, age, owners, it still transcends, wealth, age, etc...Few cars can do this, another is the Jeep Wrangler. When I see a new Camaro, and see a middle aged man driving it, I immediately think (not that it's right) could not afford a Vett....just saying...

How is that even a comparison... The SS isn't even remotely in the same class as the GT350...

How is it not? Mustang and Camaro is the same class. The Camaro runs the same times and has magnetic suspension. It's 2 different engines just like the coyote is different than the LT1.

I think this is a great comparison.

The next special Camaro is going to blow away these GT350s in straight line acceleration for sure and being that they are lighter and equipped with mag suspension, they aren't going to be bad on the road course either.

Sounds like the SS is a hodge podge of pieces thrown together from the Corvette and Cadillac parts bin. That's certainly appealing.

No thanks. Nothing genuine about it at all... It has no sole identity.
true and it still looks like shit, that comes from a Garbage Motor Company:lol::cheers:

r's will run 11.7 and non r 11.9. They have to learn how to drive them. When 4.10's come out they will drop another .1 or two. And they will fly on a road course all day.

I felt the same until I saw one at the track last weekend. It actually looks pretty good in person, even the rear spoiler didn't bother me as much. On his first pass he ran a 12.4 at 115 with all the nannies on. This was right off the dealer lot with 70 miles. I got to sit in it and like others wasn't a fan of the limited visibility.
Pretty solid time.

Its not a direct head to head video but I wouldnt be thrilled if I was a gt350 owner to be getting tested by regular ss's on the track or street. I know I know its ugly and performance isnt everything but higher performance is still awesome and so is saving money. Im really shocked by the specs of the new camaro, makes me as a future vette owner a little grumpy as well.

I agree. The SS should be compared to the GT not the GT350 but it looks like it will run with the GT350.

Looks like he was driving a GT 350 Tech Pack. Them don't look like no Recaros to me!

In all honesty, I wish the Mustang 6g platform was smaller, more like my '65 289 4spd. But, I will be exstatic if my GT 350 Track Pack gets built in January! Looking forward to driving it.

Close... And that's anticipated. That's what drives competition to be better.

I would even go out on a limb as to say that it's a set of tires close, as the 350TrP may be on level with a Z/28 should it wear Trofeos.
The 350R beat the Z28 at Nuremburg by 5 seconds earlier this year. The 350 ran within 10ths of a second to the Z28. I haven't seen any SS numbers yet.

That was a lousy review not saying anything. To compete the camaro will have to run lap times of the new z51 vette. What would that say for the fabled corvette to have a car cheaper and weighing 400lbs more to put up the same lap times?

I have said this a bunch of times, but a Base 350 (no TP) will not be that much faster around a track than an SS.
