[UPDATE]:

New rumors suggest the Shelby GT350 Mustang will have a starting price of $52,995.

The 2016 Shelby GT350 won't be cheap. The current base GT, starting at $32,100, features a 5.0L V8 with 435 HP and 400 pounds of torque. While official numbers haven't been confirmed just yet, some folks over in LA said that the horsepower will be well over 500 and there will be about 30 more lb-ft.

What else to expect coming from the GT350? Well, as mentioned before, you will get a much beefier exhaust thanks to that 180 degree crank plane, compared to the current V8's 90 degree. This will help the Stang breathe a little bit easier with a small sacrifice in smoothness of the rumble. This V8 will also be getting a little thirstier, coming up at 5.2L.

If you plan on taking to the track, Ford has already upgraded the Brembo brakes on the car. With the track package to soon come with it, you can get an optional transmission and engine oil cooling system.

When asked where this information came from, the author responded: "released at a preview event, invite-only. Nothing in writing, coming straight from some Ford folks in LA. I'm never one to reveal sources ;)"

Now that the FPC has been confirmed, it's all about pricing for me. The press release used the word option pretty liberally. As others have stated, I'm hoping for a Boss 302 like base price and reasonably priced options although, a best of both worlds track and tech option packages may price it out of touch for me.

I'm gonna guess around $55k base. Then maybe $3k for the tech package and another $3k for the track package (maybe higher for this one depending what's included).

I agree with the low $50's base price with $3k on option packages.

It seems to me Ford is building this more as a great overall car, with serious track potential, versus the Z28 track only focus. I would like it to outperform the Z28, but that thing just put down some major times in all the magazines track tests. That will be hard to beat.

Anything over $60k for this car puts it too close to Z06 territory, and I really don't see this coming close to that performance level unless someone wants to add a couple of turbos:headbang:

That being said, my full intention was to buy a C7Z next year and this car may have changed my mind.

let's pretend it's 50k you'll never be able to find one for the first year without a dealer asking an outrageous markup

I'm guessing $52.5K base and options that add up quickly.

at least 2 packages.
Tech Pack seems pretty close to "Premium"
Track Pack, not much in it or not releasing all the info yet?

"Drivers interested in comfort, convenience and entertainment upgrades may select the Tech Pack, which includes power, leather-trimmed seats; Shaker Audio; 8-inch MyFord Touch® LCD touch screen; and dual zone electronic temperature control, to name a few features."

"The forward-angled grille is designed with individual openings to draw air through the radiator, high-pressure engine air intake, cooling ducts for the front brakes and, optional with the Track Pack, an engine oil cooler and a transmission cooler."

2014 GT500 got up around 70 with all options. I don't see why this would be any less.

A loaded Premium GT is over 45K. If they price it like the Boss it will kill GT sales.

I think it will be at least as expensive as the '13/'14 GT500, so base will be 55-60K and options will push it into the high 60's.

I agree, I hope we are wrong. I will go high 40's for base (46-48), not feeling 50k+.

You just have to look at the GT350 main's rival for accurate pricing. The Camaro Z/28 starts at MSRP $72K. They are very similar in specs. With Ford's history of pricing the Mustang lineup a few hundreds dollar under the Camaro lineup, expect the GT350 to be a tad under $72K base price.
