I checked my snap ring after I heard what caused the fire. Mine was not seated all the way into the groove although it had paint marks on it indicting it was checked. I tapped it in to the groove and it moved quite a bit. Probably half its thickness.
Finally, some helpful information in this thread. Thank you.

Going to check mine for sure. Thank you.

FYI - Plenty of accounts online regarding the fire, snap ring, oil AND fuel lines.

My whole entire point is if a snap ring failed and it very well could of, then why didn't a TSB or recall go out just like the hoses.
See post #129 above ... sounds like a near snap ring failure since it wasn't fully seated.

Why not call or email Ford yourself and ask why they didn't put a TSB out to warn owners of the possible issue and to shops for techs to inspect the snap ring on every GT350 that comes in for service.

Welp got a call from the dealer today....My car is in for the 2nd time chasing an oil leak, 1st time they replaced sending unit ( I saw it leaking as well as them). About a week later I had puddles on the ground in 2 spots about 1ft apart. Hmmmm, they threw it on the lift today and discovered the oil cooler lines leaking. He said they had them ordered and would be here tomorrow. I informed him about the whole recall deal and asked if he was sure they were the "corrected" lines. He is going to check and call me tomorrow so we shall see.

Strange, why would an owner have to inform dealer of the known recall?

I found out today that they are not the official revised lines. I will have to take the car back once ford releases the updated lines and have them changed again. The upside is I get my car back lol.

When are the new oil cooler lines expected to be available at the dealer?

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard?! :frusty: How can they justify putting a new set of the same POORLY DESIGNED lines back on the a car that has had a line failure?!?! I'm starting to wonder if the cars not affected by this recall even have re-designed lines!

I do have to say it seems wierd that Ford put a stop sale on cars affected by the recall, but can sell you a part that is the recall???

If possible, and not to late it would be informative to see a pic of the hose attatchmet (swedge/crimp) point before they install. Just a thought. It may be possible the replacement lines are correctly fabricated.
