I'm out. montreal_ponies was right... 73k non-R base price, plus 4000 for the electronics package, means with fees but before taxes, the car is 80k. As expected (but not hoped for), Ford conveniently ignores when our dollar actually increases in value (as it has done considerably by now since last year) but has no problem anticipating when it drops (like it did for the 2016s)

Want one, yes. But not at that price. Good luck to the rest of Canada's potential buyers.

Told ´ya , i saw the price bump coming a mile away. These Ford executives and share holders are a greedy bunch.

That's too bad as this will put one of the best Mustang ever built out of reach for most Canadian enthousiasts.

So that's about 57k USD. What's base US price? About 50k? So 14% to get it in Canada doesn't sound unrealistic.

Is part of the increase due to duty/tariffs or other Gov't fees above and beyond sales tax/VAT or whatever you Canuks use?

So 73k + freight + fees + electronics + GST or HST. 85-90k OTD

Glad I picked up my base when I did.

There's all sorts of issues at play; economies of scale (or lack thereof) and exchange rates being the biggest.

Ford knows exactly how much each GT350(R) costs to produce in greenbacks. What they can't predict is how much profit margin they'll make given fluctuations in the looney, especially given the massive swings in exchange rate over the last few years.

The price is a hedge, and it makes business sense. But I get it; it sucks for buyers.

Huh? That's $57,782 USD. Not much more than the car is right here in the states. I don't understand the unfair part.

It's alot of money here, but realistically its about the same with the current exchange rates. One good thing is you probably wont have to worry about ADM on a non R.

It's such a nice car i'd pay the price again.
