F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

JUST grabbed mine for $75 shipped off eBay after reading this thread. I was saving up for TVS but this would be more usable for a daily driver if it works out. Posting to subscribe.

Please dont compare NA to FI cars lol.

You are trying to compare a $75 intake vs. a $6500-7k FI kit ummmmmmmm...............

If you read my post, you’d know I wasn’t comparing the two. I was simply saying that 30ft*lb would be more usable in a DD than an extra 250hp.

i still believe 100% there is ALOT left on the table with VCT tuning.

Only way to get that nailed down is hours and hours of datalogging and driving!

Do any of the big “remote tuners” have anything for the F150 intake? I know technically it doesn’t need a tune, but as everybody’s said there’s definitely remove for improvement based on OP’s dyno posts.

BTW, just got the notice that my mani is coming today via FedEx. Should get it installed Saturday.

Yeah.... no.

+250hp isnt 100% usable everywhere, but you can't compare 250hp to 30hp/tq. Not by any stretch. :headbonk: If you want alot of power, even on the street, you need FI.

You can do the same VCT tuning to the stock GT intake as well. Dial-a-cam.. gotta love it.

VCT tuning isn't going to make this better than the stock intake, or the 350, or anything.

I have a revised tune and Airaid intake on the car and will be hitting the DYNO on Sat. The 13th to see if any gains/cleaning up the curve.

Awesome...let us know how it goes.

Was the car already tuned when you had the stock intake on? If so, are you still noticing improvement in performance after revising the tune for the F150 IM?
