I'm thinking about trading my focus RS for an MSRP GT350 in ruby red with tech and track packs. I've got dedicated 2 seat sports/supercars and this needs to work for kiddos. Anybody doing it and care to share? The focus is nice for this, but the 350 back seats seem OK and the trunk is huge (prob hold more than RS does).

I have a booster for my 6 year old and it isn't bad at all. I can't imagine having a true car seat in the car though.

I have one. I had it rear facing while my daughter was younger than 2, and it is forward facing now.

Fits no problem at all. Bit of a pain in the ass crawling back to buckle her in - but the Voodoo is the baby whisperer. She sleeps like an angel and she is out QUICK!

With older kids it works but not ideal.

With younger children rear facing car seats can be an issue. The slant of the rear seat is quite the angle and lots of car seats can't compensate for the angle. That said, a very young baby can have their head tilt forward possibly reducing oxygen. It happened to my 3 month old. She was okay her head was only forward for probably 5 minutes. Any acceleration more than 1/4 throttle can cause this.

Good to know. I think I will also miss the all around usability of the RS as well. The RS is super in the corners, but a bit slow straight ahead and the noises the 350 make are insane :)

That sounds terrible. My twins are 2.5 years old and definitely forward facing. They are big girls too and could likely go to a quality booster soon.

It really is the baby whisperer! Valves open puts my little girl to sleep in no time. Something about the rumble. Like others have said, rear facing would be an issue but forward facing works just fine. Having 2 doors makes it a little more difficult to get her in and out but worth it for the car.

I use boosters for my 6 and 5 year old. I have the 5 year old sit behind me since he's shorter. My driving position is only slightly affected (I'm 5'9"). If you are tall then it may not work out too well.

The kids ride with sneakers off to keep them from messing the backs of the seats.

I use a rear facing for my 1-1/2 yr old (Britax)...no problem at all if the seat has good adjustment for angle. It is a bit of a pain to load him in, but well worth it. He loves the car and it puts him right to sleep.

I have to chuckle about the GT350 putting kids to sleep! Although there are other cars that put >me< to sleep, my GT350 sure isn't one of them!

I have two in the back of mine... forward facing convertible car seat for my 2 1/2 year old (behind passenger) and an infant carrier for the new addition.

As others have mentioned... forward facing is not a problem as she rides with shoes off (feet do touch the seat)... the infant carrier does sneak in behind me but the angle is difficult to get with the slope of the back seats... also the fact that I am 5'6" helps... I have to sit one notch closer than I normally would... so I would say it would be very challenging for taller drivers.
