Any GT350 owners contemplating the '17 Raptor?

Agreed the Eco is the one thing turning me off a little. Something about a truck makes we want a V8 just like a Mustang.

I don't really care about fuel economy. I think a supercharged V8 can do ok for torque. Less weight could be good if the engine was fun to listen to.

I don't really need another pickup either. Especially a really nice one that I wouldn't want to drive on icy or salty days. And I need at least an F-250 for other tasks.

That is a great pic of a raptor, like the best one I've ever seen. I expected more HP then what they announced for the 17. Its was like 408 HP and 420TQ. Was expecting closer to 500. They should have put the 5.2 in it. Heck the 5.0 would have been just as good.

I love the look of the raptors but i'd rather get a Ranger with a 5.0 in it at 4100 lbs with 450 hp.. hint hint. Build it for me Ford!
I may just buy one when they come, gut it and drop in a 5.2 cpc crate

I'll be ordering a new Raptor from the same dealer who sold my GT350 to me for msrp. I'll be getting their first order, allocation etc. '17 F-150 order banks open on the 18th of July. I'm hoping the Raptor banks will open then as well.

The new one will be better in every way over the old one, other than the sound of the engine.

5.2 would be terrible in the Raptor. That engine doesn't have enough low end torque to tow anything.

Also the 3.5TT V6 will have closer to 450hp/tq. Not sure where you got 408 from as thats less than the 6.2L its replacing.

Silver Lake is a Raptors playground. Been there a bunch of times and have gotten air countless times. :cheers:

I have a 2012 Raptor with a whipple also, there in a class of their own for sure. The new one should be interesting though its a whole new world to check out!

The power numbers for the 2017 Raptor hasn't been released yet. It should be atleast 450HP. Unless im reading what you said completely wrong
