Wow! That's with 2.9 Whipple? Does it have the stock timing gear as well?

It's nice to finally see the Whipple getting a solid time slip full weight car that someone can duplicate fairly easily street trim

Mt-82 shifting into 5th.
That sounded terrible, the 4-5 shift, clutch pulling down RPM hard. RPM kills transmissions, I'm surprised it's living with stock internals at 8000+ RPM. Pretty good numbers, kudos for getting out there........

MPH would indicate it should be faster, somewhere around 9.30et. What's holding it back......Suspension, Trans, Driver, Supercharger, a combination......Or driver??????????

Yes, motor has never been apart other than what is needed for our SC install.
But I think we can all agree, it's a VERY GOOD idea to change out a part that is a well documented potential failure point.

(Especially on the blower cars, though I'd recommend it for any FI application.)

Congrats Whipple! 150mph on a MT-82 is always a good day at the office.

I'm curious to see if anyone uses a Centri blower with the GT350 manifold and wrings out the RPMs...that'll be something worth testing.

we have the boss on our car now, when we put the built engine in.

we were probably running 9-950 wheel on the stock engine, and when the engine went, all the internals were still in place.

the engine actually cracked in the cylinder wall from egging. same issue the 11-14 has at higher hp.

ford doesn't support the water jacket area, and over time, this causes the cylinders to eventually egg and crack.

i was pretty pleased when we took it apart and found that to be the issue.

in general, we tell guys, 800 wheel or so is a very doable # on the stock block without worrying about egging.

over that it starts to get hit or miss, closer to 1000, it will eventually happen.

our 2011 car, on a built engine, at 800 wheel, lasted for a season and probably 100+ passes, and then 1000wheel for 1/2 a season before the cylinder wall went.

the piston / rod combo is def better on the 15
