May 2016 Mustang Sales

U.S. auto sales stalled in May 2016 with most major manufacturers seeing declines of new vehicles sales.

The Ford Mustang has seen very strong sales this year, but it too was not immune to the overall market decline posting 10,327 vehicles sold, down from the 12,726 Mustangs sold in April.

Despite the monthly and year-to-date decline, the Mustang has broken the 10,000 mark again and for the 19th straight month leads all pony cars in sales dating back to November 2014.

By comparison, the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger sold just 5,827 and 6,677 vehicles respectively, last month. Year to date sales for the Mustang total 53,189, down 6% from the same time last year while its rivals total 60,993 vehicles combined.
