Doing more arts and crafts "crap." ;)

Zombie bite sticker, red transparent film, and a "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" tag that I will probably change to "REMOVE BEFORE DRIVE". The second one is a joke idea, since I keep forgetting to change the drive modes.

The tag is attached to the toggle switch via rare earth magnet. WHICH IS REALLY weak, showing that a) it is metal and b) its metal plating.

I couldn't even get the magnet to stick to the dash.. interesting. ;)

I should probably add that these designs are copyright 2015, MDA. In case someone on another site wants to "borrow" them. ;)

Sorry I am probably behind but I thought the drive mode resets to standard for safety/warranty issues?

It does (except for steering mode.) I have to set the driving mode to whatever i want each time.

I kept forgetting to set to Snow/Wet with the summer PP tires.. hence the tag. :D

2015 Yellow GT on order
I finished a few things tonight. Changed the pony courtesy lights to a lighter green (again, Oracal 8300 vinyl.) Its brighter, and looks better than the dark green imho.

And I removed the stock 5.0 badges, and replaced them with some plastic-dip painted NOS ones. It was easier than trying to paint in place, and I wanted to see how they had the mounting holes.

Fishing line, heat gun, vinyl applicator or plastic scraper, goo gone, Windex, and soft soft clean polishing rags, and patience. ;)

I'll get some better pics of it in the daylight tomorrow.
Could you elaborate on how you removed the factory badges?
Were there some sort of retainers on the back side of the pins?

I have seen youtube video where a badge was removed with fishing string and then finishing up with goo gone to remove the adhesive but how do you remove the badge when the pins are involved?

Are the vinyl colors re-usable? Seems like they would be!? Just keep them clean and flat?
Yes, I think so, with two caveats:

The adhesive might stick to the plastic for that the vinyl, so it could be less "sticky" after being used once.

The vinyl is fairly stiff, and if you crease the part that goes over the lens it will diffuse the light a bunch, and probably make the pony look like a mutant. :)

In general, vinyl tends to be one time use, but it is possible to restock these, I have done so at least one time.

Officially, its not meant for more than one application, so re-use at your own risk to the product. :)

I knew I should have recorded this. I was too excited to put them on and then I was like "Hey, I should have recorded that."

I used the heat gun to warm the adhesive on the stock emblems, and then took fishing line, the slightly thicker stuff, and worked the sides until I hit the peg, then I went to the other side, same thing. Then I worked the string 45 degrees, as far as I could go with the peg in the way on each side. Once it was remove up to the pegs, as much as I could do, I used a vinyl squeegee (its basically a slightly softer version of a plastic putty knife, and pried the middle out and it came off. Be very careful not to bend the emblem obviously, or it will snap. I've used a plastic putty knife, just be careful not to scratch paint with corner of knife.

Just take your time, and keep the heat up -- keep applying heat gun every so often, without making it too hot.

Its easier to do than to type actually. :) just be patient.

I'll see if I have any pics, I thought I took a few.

Incredible!

I'm just about to order my 2015 and the only thing I haven't been able to decide on is the color! I really wanted the Competition Orange but I'm not so sure now. I'll tell you after seeing the Guard a few times (and it was one of my choices) I think I'm sold. Reminds me of the Bullitt. I have the Legend Lime '05 so I do like shades of Green! :-) :headbang:

Haha badass!
Lol just in time for halloween
I had a few people ask for these so I added them to the store. I also made a new one before I had it die cut. The "High Speed" version. :)

The vinyl is a dark red.. like blood (the color is called cranberry though lol). The pic makes it look brighter than it is.
