Ah...

Oh, by the way, earlier we were discussing the locking gas door issue and the plug for the easyfill..

Just FYI, I bought one of the plugs Ford sells and it does not fit the 2015. The plug is too large to fit in the mouth of the filler tube.
I might still get it mounted before then.. if so I'll see what I can do :)

Good data on the plugs, I hope you kept your receipts. ;)

Have you tried to open the key for the S550 yet? I can't seem to do it with fat fingers. ;)
My dealer tried and failed last night (medium sized fingers) but we had other stuff going on so he didn't try very long, haven't messed with it since.

I put my spare fob thingy in a small metal box I had. Car does not know it is there as long as the lid is closed. Reckon I'll keep the metal dead battery key in my pocket, hide the box in the car somewhere sneaky and consider things a little bit idiot proofed. Like to travel with two sets of keys when I have somebody with me anyway.

Other subject;

Looked at using a jack and jack stands with my local Ford service manager today.
Am going to need to either;
a. Buy new jack stands with thin slotted face to work at tire change jacking points.
b. Buy thin slotted face adapter for my Jack.
c. Bolt something on to car to get away from the thin slot stuff.
d. buy new jack made to work with the Ford jacking points. Maybe just the tire change jack that comes with cars that have a spare?
For the moment I decided not to decide. Dealer gave me a 'new car buyers' price on installing a Ford Racing catback exhaust next Wednesday & I'm going to look things over close when I can get a nice snails eye view of the cars naughty bits & then decide.

Was thinking about what to do when massively stupid happens. You lock the key in your trunk, or loose it or find a way to break it.

Before "improvements" I always just had a spare flat key made for about $3.52 and slid it in my wallet.

I guess with the new - big enough to look like you are growing a second appendage when it is in your pocket - key I can do something like.
1. Carry a 'dead battery' key in my wallet.
2. Remove battery from the spare 'new & improved 2nd appendage sized' key.
3. Hide 2nd mongo key somewhere in vehicle with battery removed.
I'm pretty sure it operates like my G37, in that you can't lock the key in the trunk. When I close my trunk wit the key inside it, the trunk unlocks and pops back open.

1) Why would you want to do that? There is a key inside the fob that lets you open the door if the battery in the fob is dead. You slide the plastic cover on the door handle off and there is a keyhole behind it. Once inside the car there is a place to slide the entire keyfob assembly into that will let the car recognize the key and let you start the car. (My G37 has all this as well, and its a 2008, the tech has been around for awhile)

2) No need for same reasons as stated in 1)

Zombie resembles this remark. ;)

BRAAAAAIIIIIINNNNSSS....
Hey Z,

I was curious if Brian Schroeder (a.k.a. Pushead) created your graphics?
Just a strong guess...
He created graphics for my buddy Craig Johnson (Zorlac skates) back in the early eighties.

Kindly,
Duderino

No, just little ol' me. :) for the zombie bit I took a pic of my mouth yelling and then used it as a template in Adobe Illustrator to create the vector art.

If you mean my avatar, and that's a screen snap (with some photoshopping) of the Heavy Metal movie. Original art for the zombie pilot was drawn by Mike Ploog.

Didn't pushead do the original Misfits logo?

Most people do not need them. If you like to do some of your own work & need to be able to work safely and with ample wiggle room under the car, they get the job done.

For swapping summer to winter wheel sets one at a time I may just use a scissors jack, but if it was easy to throw a jackstand in place it just makes me that much more comfortable. Also a basic hand operated hydraulic jack used with a jack stand would probably be quicker and easier.
I have known two people who were killed working under cars, one guy because the car rolled & then dropped the other because it just dropped.

I knew your avatar looked familiar, just couldn't place where.

And yes Pushead did do the Misfits logo.

Went to northern Kentucky for a hockey game for my youngest, and got attention at the gas station again, and then a guy in a '13 or '14 came flying up on the highway, maneuvering to get up next to me and yelled, "hey, how do you like it?"

Its hard to be low key in these cars, at least for now. :)

I also saw my first '15 Pony in the wild on Sunday. It was heading north on I75, around 9:55 AM EST, just north of the 275 interchange in Cincy.

It was too far away to tell, but looked like a Ebony EB.

I've literally had people riding in the left lane break their necks trying to take pictures of me while driving.
