Attached is my dyno run from today. It was on a Mustang dyno. The person running the dyno thought that my tune was on target, but noticed signs of spark blowout at around 5200 RPM. He estimated that this is costing me around 20 whp, and recommended that I check the plugs and gap them down to .025"

With spark blowout, the car managed the following:

Uncorrected:

334.8 whp @ 5716 RPM
353.3 lb/ft @ 4039 RPM

Corrected:

349.1 whp
368.4 lb/ft

Does this seem about right for FBO with VS2+ on a 91 oct tune? I do run WMI but the tune doesn't depend on it, so the car don't go ecoboom if WMI setup breaks.

So if his estimation is right and I fix the blowouts, corrected readings should be around:

369.1 whp
388.4 lb/ft (?)

Does this seem about right for a Mustang dyno run? I heard that Mustang dynos tend to read lower than Dynojet.

It’s actually almost exactly what I would expect out of 91 octane. I am wanting this turbo and would be happy with those numbers. All I have available is 91 as well.

Is this the twin scroll?

Yes sir, it is indeed TS. It definitely pulls hard to the red line, unlike the stocker. It looks like he lifted the throttle about at the max HP level looking at the graph. So I'm inclined to believe that there are more HP to be had if there wasn't any spark blowouts and he went closer to the red line.

Searching on the Internet, general consensus is that Mustang dyno reads about 10-15% lower than DynoJet. I'm trying to see if my numbers are similar to others, but most of the dyno numbers posted are from DynoJet (perhaps for a good reason).

Most all mustang dynos have Eddy current load control on them. This is a large magnet that will load the rollers to the inputted weight of the car. Weither the correct weight was entered or not is all our guess. Mustang dynos are the better dynos to tune on as it will give you the closest to street driving conditions and numbers close to what you would actually see to the tires

That's what I have heard as well. Looks like Mustangs are also showing about 12% power on Mustang dynos. Now I can see why vendors like to use DynoJet!

Number look great!! Now get meth injection before you melt the motor..

Mustang dyno=real driving numbers

Dyno jet=bragging rights

There both just tools of the tuning craft like a pair of side cutter to electrician..
Meth or corn :D

Thanks! Already running WMI (50/50 mix) as it does get pretty hot during the summer in the Phoenix metro area.

I also have a WMI kit that I will be installing. Was this tuned without the kit running then just added for security? Thats exactly what I was going to do as well.

WMI kit was dataloged to ensure that I have right amount injected, and there wasn't more methanol injected than the ECU is able to account for by trimming the fuel.

Afterwards, I was given two maps on one file; map 1 which limits the boost to 23 PSI when I'm not running meth, and map 2 for meth. I know that the car can handle map 2 without meth as I accidentally used it while the kit was off. However, I wouldn't want to run map 2 without meth during the summer here when ambient temperature can hit around 120 degrees.

That sure is a lot of power and torque for a 2.3L motor. Ford is the King!
Gotta love that turbo torque.
Nice numbers. Like a stock 5.0 Coyote pre 2018

Yup 350+ HP and 360+ TQ on 91 is about right. And close to the limit on that octane. I got (with bad gas and knock and tons of timing retardation) on crap 93 with my 5862 precision kit around those estimated numbers. With timing backing off and issues.

WHP numbers seems to be on par with stock pre-'18 Mustangs on a Mustang dyno, so I'm quite happy with the 91 oct tune results. I'll see if taking care of the spark blowout's worth another 20 WHP.

I just noticed this is the + with the bigger compressor wheel. It still seems to spool very fast if I am right assuming that where the graph starts is where WOT starts.

Do you know what boost level this is at?
