I know about plastidip but looking for something more permanent. Does anyone have one that doesn't require painting or removing entire front bumper to install?

The only thing I can recommend is plasti dip man. You will have to undoubtedly remove the front bumper to get to the grill. Plasti-dip is very easy and its clean. I had mine Plastidipped on my 2011 for three years and never once did it chip. Good luck with your search.

I have the UPR version in gloss black that I'm not going to use.

Still brand new never installed.

You can remove the factory without taking the bumper off and install a new one with two sided tape (which the UPR has on the back already).

If you're interested PM me. I'll sell it to you.

I stand corrected, thanks for that info brother, I am out of date.
No worries man. If you do remove the factory one it uses one time circle washers to hold on to little plastic pegs on the back side of the emblem. I just removed two bolts to move the hood latch and broke the tabs off from the back.

I replaced my factory one with 2013 (I think) OEM that came in "black chrome". My goal was to use new circle washers but it is basically impossible to get them on with the grill installed in the car, just not enough room to apply the kind of pressure needed...I'm not sure how successful you'd even be with the grill off and room to work.

Either way I currently have double sided tape on the back of my replacement emblem (not using the factory mounting pegs/one time washers) and it hasn't budged so I'm confident it's a secure form of mounting.

I actually thought I was a genius and took a 1/2" hex head bolt and JB welded it to the back of the first replacement pony logo I installed. I drilled a hole for that bolt to pass through behind where the emblem mounts and used a washer and lock nut to secure from the back...I thought that was the strongest possible mounting solution possible. Well apparently the plastic the emblem is made from didn't like the JB weld because a week later I walked out and the head of the bolt was sticking through the grill with the JB weld on it but the horse had fallen off (horse was long gone, likely while driving). I prepped the back of the horse where I applied the epoxy with sandpaper and alcohol to clean it. I know that some forms of plastic react with certain paints and epoxys so I'm guessing that's what happened.

Anyway, not to detract from the original question, I still have a brand new UPR black gloss for sale if anyone wants it :)

Interesting so what exactly does the two sided tape adhere to, the honeycomb part of grill? The 3m is pretty strong so I figure it's fine just curious how much surface area is has to adhere to....also how much do you want for the upr emblem? I have matte everywhere else as far as emblems go but I think the gloss would work for the front.

The area the pony sits in is a flat black part that is the same size. If you remove the emblem there is still pony shaped black plastic piece that is recessed in the grill. Since it's flat the tape works fine.

PM'd you on the price.
