Would you swap out tires before a road trip?

Going to be making the trip from Cleveland to Chicago this weekend.

I currently have the PP P Zeros with about 5/32 of tread left on the car. I usually just swap out these for the skinny P Zero Nero’s that came with the car for winter since I have a separate 4WD that I use. Because of this, the Nero’sare pretty much still brand new.

I’m on the fence about swapping them before I go or waiting until I get home.

The summer P Zeros are towards the end of their life. The weather is going to be mid 60s to low 70s except for the day we leave. When we leave, it’s going to be mid 40s but should be clear.
Considering the level of tread left, do you think I can put off swapping tires until after I leave or would it be best to do it before?

Don't think your PP P Zeros should give you an issue but if you're going to put on the P Zero Nero’s anyways, may as well before the trip so your mind can be at ease.

I’m the type who waits til after the road-trip to freshen things up.

5/32" is about 4 mm, I see no reason to change them.
With less than 1/8" I would order new and drive more carefully in wet conditions (hydroplaning).
Replacement at the latest at ⁵/₆₄".

The other tires should not perform any better in freezing wet conditions, and snow is probably not to be expected?
