Don't be lazy and keep the 'stang in the garage! It is annoying, but it only takes 2 minutes to move the other car out of the way.

+1 for the auto sensing flood lights. You mentioned it was last night. Has it happened before that?
Based on that, I would think about how much money, time and stress each of the options are. Definitely the police should be notified. They may be tracking this issue around town already. That's always worth it to help you and your SO keep a record of incidents if it is more than once.

Ha! I have no idea if this is possible, hire a security company to have stakeout guys hiding in the shadows to video them (and detain? Not sure about that) in the act of egging. You can give that evidence to the police so they can do their job. Maybe the security team has rotten eggs ready to go! Hitting the quick post button now... Sorry.

I got egged fourish months after taking delivery, while on a first date after breaking up with a very passionate girl. It didn't do any damage except one spot. Little chips in a circular fashion about the size of a fist, I made it look worse touching it up. Will fix it when I sell the car or feel like throwing away a few hundred bucks. Otherwise I don't really care. No way to prove ex was there, it's a car at the end of the day, and the date went especially well, smashed her in the car egg dropping and all haha
