Sorry, as mentioned the car I installed it on was my daughters, not my mustang.

I believe @StangTime suggested fuse 23 inside the passenger side box.

I linked to the model I installed and it is working very well for her. The fuse tap kit I ordered was made by Vantop a well
VanTop V9F Dash Cam Hardwire Kit, 11.5ft Mini USB Hard Wire Kit for Dashcam Converts 12V-24V to 5V/2.5A w/Fuse Kit and Installation Tool, Over-Current Protection for Dash Cameras
4.6 out of 5 stars 26
$9.99
The camera is just a simple micro cam (not dash cam).
I think the fuse has to be one from underneath the hood or else I will have to run the wire through the firewall etc.
The hardware kit you linked would work perfect on dashcam.

I could be wrong here..but should I be looking at something like this?
Autozone fuse kit

I found this one also.
Pretty nice. No wires to tap. Battery operated with quick launch option

Autozone fuse kit
If you want a camera in the front and a wired monitor in the cabin, you'll have to run the camera wire through the firewall and engine bay. The only other way would be something wireless.

The link to the auto zone fuse you sent is already included in the $10 kit I showed you (there are actually 4 of them - one for each type of fuse since they don't know what type of fuse your car uses). You won't need anything else. As mentioned, its about as straight forward as it gets....

power to the monitor(mirror), mount the camera, route the wires and plug it in. Done. There is also another camera that is built into the back of the mirror that is used as a dash cam. There is also a micro USB card slot in the mirror to record.

@Oryx - you have convinced me :)
I placed a return for that ebay camera.
Found a nice deal on VanTop H609 Dual Mirror Dash Cam, so going with that.

Thank you again :)

It's a shame someone doesn't make one that taps into the system and can be displayed on the info screen like the backup camera.
I have something on my Ford E450 camper that's kinda cool... It's after market and I don't remember the brand. But it mounts in place of the optional rear view screen and has (3) cameras (blind spots; rear and sides). But I have been thinking of adapting it to my Mustang... And placing cameras where needed!??
