I have less than 1500 miles on the car and it looks like the windshield has been sandblasted Has anyone noticed this with their windshields. Its usually visible when the sun is at the right angle and it looks like there is glitter throughout the windshield? I am wonder if this is common considering the sound proofing design?

No....I am taking it in today for the drive line issue as well as well a metallic sound on start-up. Not sure if I will bother with it since it only happens when the sun is at the right angle. I saw this before on my boss. The material is softer now and plus the angle of the windshield makes it more noticeable.

Have you heard like a heat shield rattle that is noticeable when starting the car? This usually happens after I drive it and it sits for like 10 mins or so and then start it and there is a slight rattle that last about 10-15 sec.

No definitely no sound like that at startup. As for the windshield it will look horrible at night with headlights or Street lights facing you. I would get it checked out. Pretty sure I can get mine cleared up with some zaino z12 as it looks like hard water deposits more than cracks

I've got the sandblasted winsheild issue and the rattling noise but mine only rattles for about 3-5 seconds on startup

the accoustical sound proofing is the type of PVB (PolyVinylButyl) layer between the 2 panes of glass, so it would have nothing to do with the sand blasting on the outside of the glass.

the joys of a new car (new windshield) are not long for the world. You never really notice it unless you spend time with a brand new car.

I can assure you that is not the case in my situation.
So pits just randomly show up in the windshield?
Can you scrape them off? Could be pollen/sap.

No it just looks like it has been sand blasted. Like I said until the sun is at the right angle like mid afternoon that is when it is most noticeable.

Update - I have tried multiple polishes and even vinegar on my extreme hard water spots. Nothing worked at all. Ordered the zaino z12 and it works! Took about 3 passes to get it all cleared up but it did indeed work! My windshield was horrible from the factory. Couldn't even see at night. All good now!
