I don't know how I did not notice this till today. I was lifting up my drivers side wiper and noticed it was not clearing the edge of the hood. Something is wrong here. Either Ford installed my GT350 wipers backwards or I have the wrong ones.

Makes me mad as someone had already lifted it up and it has slightly scuffed the edge of the paint. :frusty:

Could someone take a look at theirs and let me know?

Nothing abnormal. They're all that way.

It's one of the first things I noticed when I washed my car for the first time. Very irritating.

You have got to be kidding me, that is horrible design!

If there is nothing aftermarket I will need to put something along that edge before it gets to bare metal when someone lifts that up when I am not around.

It's the way it was designed. I didn't realize it until after lifting it up and taking a half inch worth of paint off the edge. Had it touched up, but it's still noticeable when I'm driving.

I guess the engineer missed that one, hopefully soon their will be a TSB that adresses the situation.
I would have it looked at by my dealership .

that part of the hood is lower compared to the regular stangs. No trouble popping my wiper blades up

It's designed that way to prevent wiper lift at high speed and for aerodynamics. Just makes it a pain to clean the glass and change the wipers.

My GT is not like that. Like mentionned above, i can pop up my wiper blades sans problem.

I say it's a desigh flaw period.

Absolutely NOT a design flaw. As someone mentioned earlier, it's designed that way to prevent wiper lift at speed. This is, if you will recall, a car designed with track airflow at the top of the list. Function over form every time. Besides, all you need to do it turn the wipers on and stop them at half travel and you'll have all the access you need to clean the windshield.

Think your hood is lower on the GT. Probably left the wiper location the same and said it served two purposes - design cost and aerodynamics. I have this same thing with two of my other vehicles so I'm not sure I would characterize it as a "design flaw period."

Just put the wipers in a vertical position. Learned that trick 9n the 92 svx which also hid it's wipers for lower cd.
