Windshield Wipers Installed wrong?

Panicked now

Just found this thread. My car is at the dealership so the service department can address this issue and also remount the front splitter. Called the dealership and the service tech is out to lunch. Hopefully he didn't try and repair the problem. The dash and parts of the firewall are probably on the floor of the car now. ARGHGHGHGHGH!!!! The splitter was installed and apparently all the bolts were not put in so it slipped down in the middle. Very glad it did not come loose. Last time it was there 15 miles were needed to install the splitter. (at delivery, they forgot to put it on) Guess then had to test it.

You need to turn the wipers on and have them stop mid way, then you can fully fold out the wiper

I don't believe this thread is about "how to change the wiper blades" - the question was whether the location of the driver side wiper, which does hit the hood edge when lifted manually for cleaning, is a flaw or designed that way. I can see the reason for the "design" but than again, I have never had to turn on the wipers and move them to the middle of the windshield in order to clean the windshield - and that is over 40 years of owning many different cars. When was the last time anyone had to read the owners manual in order to fine out how to clean a windshield??

It is designed that way. Many cars are designed that way - and have been, for at least 20 years.

Yep. German cars, especially. Maybe this is Ford's way of trying to make the car "more European."

I'm not trying to argue here, but if it is designed that way, why is the passenger side wiper not designed that way, since I can lift that one without putting the blades in the middle of the windshield. Am I to assume that the aero only affects the driver side blade? If other cars have them, do they only block the driver's side, or both?:headbonk:

Just the driver's side... Same as the GT350. Both of my last two VW GTI's had the same design. It's not a big deal, IMHO.
