Hi everyone,

I want to know what you guys think,
I have a mustang gt 2015 with 37k kilómeters, and right after my last oil change a week ago it started doing this click. I have done every oil change before time or miles passed, and i'm worried is the bbq tick.

Thank you

This is the Typewriter tick...sorry. I just had my 1st oil change at the dealer (bought the service plan) and it started doing it right after. They must use crappy regular oil instead of synthetic. To fix it, use this: https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/us/cera-tec-p000017.html#20002

Amazon has it...

Also, check out the thread that discusses this for more info:

Thank you.
Will use this liquid to fix it. So it doesn't mean that i need a new engine?

Correct, you do not need a new engine! Ford has released a TSB on this issue. They say it's normal...I just don't like having my 50k car sound like a bbq clicker while idling. I'm willing to bet when you did your own oil changes, you used synthetic. The dealer must cheap out and use regular.

If full syn is not requested they will use the factory recommended semi-syn that our cars have come with for years. Could this be the cause? Who knows. Doubtful. Just get the Ceratec, and drive it like you stole it.

By the way the tick was always there, it was just inaudible.

Thank god.
I totally agree, the car is way too expensive to have a tick like a 1993 nissan sentra.
This is the second dealer to do a cheap work on my car. Last time they changed the hid d3s bulb and harness and they put a frankenstein conection with a h4 led. From now on i'll do myself everything that the car needs.
Thank you very much for the help, i didn't sleep all night thinking i've to get a new engine.

This pisses me off because I paid extra for the "premium" service plan with 10 oil changes...it says to use Synthetic. I guess I have to be more vocal at the counter.

Who’s premium service plan? Ford’s or a third parties? Ford will only give you factory oil, semi-syn. If third party, does it specifically say full syn? You need to carefully read your contract.

Also what does your invoice say was used. You may need to have a conversation with the service manager to confirm the tech used what they were supposed to.

I looked at my service plan when I bought the car after all this...it's through Ford and specifically states Synthetic oil in the contract. It was more expensive then the normal plan, but still way cheaper than buying the oil for 10 changes.

The invoice only has the weight of the oil, doesn't specifically say synthetic.

I won't use that place again...there's another dealer about the same distance I'll try next time.

Joe, I think you may be over reacting. You may also be confusing Semi Synthetic with Full Synthetic. How much more did you pay to get full syn? Does the contract specifically say "full" syn or does it just say syn? Big difference. Also your invoice should have called out the type of oil used. Speak to the service manager and ask him/her. If need be have them ask the tech and show you where the oil came from.

Edit. This is what I'm talking about. Make sure what you paid and what you are getting match.

I'll check, thanks for the info! I do remember it did not say blend, so I'm pretty sure it should have been full synthetic. I'll take a pic of the service invoice...not much to see on it. The dealership is pretty small.

I know it's frustrating but if they did put in semi it may have just been an oversight and not intentional. It's also an easy fix. :like:

Get a refund on that junk, completely overpriced moneymaker for the dealer.
