I was looking for 10-11" wheels locally available with TÜV certificate for Europe. So far I found only HRE (Flow Form) which have 1 option in 285/35 R19 and 305/35 R19 (sadly no PS4s in this size, only old Super Sport) and more options in same sizes but R20 (available PS4s). Price should be similar to imported PP2 wheels.

And funny thing, specifically HRE FF10 looks pretty similar to HP bird's nest wheels imo.

I was quite surprised, yeah, at least on first look from distance. With similar local price as importing Ford Performance PP2 wheels, similar oem diameter with small enough error and local legal papers for 285/305-30 R20 it sounds as a great deal, glad I found this option. Quality of them seems to be on high level. With ceramic coating these FF10 should be easily cleanable too and provide look similar to HP bird's nest if I won't chose FF04 instead.

Great video from their production too.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but as the Mach 1 (non HP) wheels are wider than the standard GT wheels would it be crazy to fit wider tyres?

I own a 2017 GT (but contemplating a Mach 1) and always felt they could do with a bit more rubber at the rear, so getting wider tyres on the stock Mach 1 rims would seem like a reasonable option?

The 0.5" wider wheels are actually a better fit for Mach 1 stock tyres than regular GT wheels. Recommended tyre for 9.5" is 255-265 with 275 as max, for 10" it's 265-275 with 285 max, see this table.

So yeah, you can easily put 265/35 R19 in the front and 285/35 R19 in the rear . The diameter errors are negligable (+1.1% and +0.7%). If you feel like it, 275/35 R19 in the front and 295/35 R19 in the rear would work good too (diameter errors +2.2% and +1.4%).

Check max recommended for 10.5" (295) and 11" (305) in the table, yet HP wheels are 305 and 315, so 10 mm above the max recommended is just fine, clearly.

Thanks, be interesting to know if running wider tyres makes much difference in the real world. I'm sure someone will try at some point!

The sidewall difference between 305-315/30 R19 and 305/30 R20 is negligable, just a few milimeters (94 vs 91 mm) which is quite a bit different to 109 mm of 275/40 R19. So they're lower profile than oem but when they're this similar to HP/PP2 sizes, the ride should still be pretty comfortable with 20" wheels. Any thoughs?

(guess these thoughts appear very often, I like some answers about 20" here a lot)

I thought you said you were only allowed to run the OE wheels and OE tires in the Czech Rebublic?

Difference for what? Driving to work, no.
At the track yes, but dependent on a lot of factors. A half inch difference isn't going to make a dramatic difference. And running better/more aggressive tires in the same size will make more difference.

I bet part of the issue is there are little options for a half inch wider tire that maintains the stock/current tire radius. E.g. 265/40R19 or 285/40R19 are hard to find.

It's possible to have aftermarket wheels written to car certificate here if the wheels have approval for Europe (German/Austrian TÜV certificate).
Ford Performance wheels don't have these certificates so unless the manufacturer itself wrote it to the certificate, I'd be out of luck. But HRE states they have TÜV certificates for sales in Europe for their wheels and local distributor is approved seller by Ministry of Transportation so all should be good with HRE. So fingers crossed!

I believe similar procedures should apply in all European countries and UK, so 305 mm wide tyres in the back should be legally possible for us!
