Why you would get a used shelby vs a New SS?

Im back and forth on wether to get a New SS or a used shelby 40K and under, wonder what about the shelby you would choose vs the performance and refinement of the new SS which is hard to beat at that price point? what turns me off is in 3 yrs i know every camaro is gonna be all over the place like they are now i haven't had a chance to drive a 2012 shelby and below and wonder how they handle on mountain roads

Having owned a 2007 GT500, I'd steer clear of anything older than a 2011.

The '07-'10 cars have iron blocks and are hose-heavy pigs. In stock form they aren't all that great in terms of handling. Otherwise they're great (for their day). Silly power is only a pulley and tune away.

Me, I like my S550 much better than I did my '07, just a better car all around.....

i thought the older 2011-2012 had the aluminum vs iron block ? why steer clear of them?
