If i need an auto for something itll have a th400 or glide. You know, the trans actual fast cars typically have put in. Not this 10-12 second slow stuff that people think you need an auto for. Hell, you can row a car into lower 8s. This idea of requiring an auto to do so is rather funny. Auto is not a requirement its just a way out for average racers typically. There is nothing wrong with being average, dont misunderstand. With that said autos definitely have their place. However people are so quick to opt out of working on their skills they'd rather reach for instant gratification. Shame really.
A TH400 and a glide would suck on a road course. Auto vs manual on a road course doesn't hide driver competency. That said, an A10 will likely improve everyone's relative lap times vs a manual. Nothing wrong with that IMO. To me, the joy of driving is car control. I can have just as good of car control in a well sorted auto as a well sorted manual.

But car control involves controlling the power to the wheels between/during/before/after shifts - largely lost with an auto as you have no responsibility to engage a clutch, heal-toe, downshift to slow down without upsetting the car, etc., etc. IF I had an auto on the track - it'd be a PDK or something of equal caliber. The Ford auto is not going to be remotely as good. I mean, to each their own. But it is harder for me to whip around a track in a stick shift because of my relatively basic skill with a stick in this environment. Put me in a GTI or Golf R with a flappy paddle PDK and I have a lot less attention to spread about.

Of course it would. Its for the drag racers. Thats the biggest reason the camaro guys are chosing the 10spd, to drag race because they aren't great with a stick. Which is why i said what i said.

I don't know, that ZL1 'ring video sure looked like a hell of a lot of fun... And that transmission and software was on point...
