Why did they remove the hood vent turn signals on 2017'?

Yeah man. I'm half Somalian and half Kenyan. I'm 7"3 but only weigh 180.

The good news is I can steer the car with my knees!

I like seeing my Roush heat extractors better than a turn signal on the hood.

I liked them, and so did my wife. They were a really cool feature. I ended up switching them out for Roush heat extractors, though not because I didn't want the OEM ones.

Ha. Not the first one to ask that! Here's me with a full size camel as a size comparison.

This article covers it: http://www.themustangnews.com/conte...n-signals-axed-for-2017-mustang/#.V8R_svkrIQ8

"The design of the hood and seating position precluded anyone in the car less than six-feet tall from seeing them at all. They were a design fail at best, a gimmick at worst. While some might miss them for sentimental reasons, anyone who’s driven a 2016 GT wont miss them as they’ve never seen them."
Yah Jalopnik did an article on it also..really went into Ford about the design fail.

If they would lower the hood an inch like they did the GT350 and get rid of the bulge you'd see both of them.

They might be useful with a dashcam to prove you signaled. My dashcam shows both vents easily, but otherwise they're useless.
I like them and think they are pretty cool even if I can't see the right side. I added them to my 15' and am glad I have them for my dash cam.

I like em, even though I can barely see the driver side one. First car was a '68 stang and I had always wanted the hood with the integrated signals on that.

Lock signal

I always lock the car with my thumb on the handle so I love using them as a visual indicator the car is locked.

Nice that it was for the '16s only. As has been brought up before, the driver can't see the rear turn signals, but it's cool to know what they are doing!

They are there, I like 'em, so to me that's ALL that matters!

I bet when people see you step out of the mustang they are like WTF? Kudos to you man. I'm only 6ft, and I feel like the seat should be at least another 3 inches further back.

They're pretty dumb. Once I figure out where the hell the end of the wire is inside the fender I'm taking mine out.
gimme. let me know when you take them out. i bought black heat extractors for my white '15 and they came from a '16 so i have the lights but no wiring. my dad had them in his '67 long time ago... or maybe i just like flashing things please don't :paddle: lol
If this guy backs out, I want them!

Welp, better start cutting holes in the hood then.
He needs a TVR! They have the bulge in the roof for wearing a helmet, but he needs it for his head!

They should have put them on the 2017 & 2018's as a fifty year fail anniversary. (originally on 1967 & 1968's.)
