What exactly does this mean? How does someone actually get this done? I'm hearing about a certain GT350R that has been approved for this process. :gossip: ;)

Maybe they will actually align all the panels!

In all seriousness I am not quite sure

This process does not happen very often based on my experience with Ford and suggest that this process is being applied to your replacement R model but could be totally wrong.

In any case I replied to your PM a week ago without a response so you can take it from there!

Vehicles slated to head to car shows typically get wet sand and polish to remove most of the orange peel in the paint.

Wondering if anything concerning this shows up on any official paperwork for the car.

I think the only way you would know if your vehicle had this treatment is if you were told so by someone reliable from the plant or as seen in Hizli's previously posted pictures the a 8.5 x 11 handwritten piece of paper stating "Show Car" was hanging off the front bumper support and as a result this area wouldn't receive paint in this area. Not sure if Hizli can repost?

It means that the labeled car will get extra attention to make sure it doesn't have the fked up flaws we all have. I think its bs myself because every car that leaves the plant should have nice even panel gaps, no broken bumper tabs, no rocker panel dents, no gouging in the interior panels etc. it's not much to ask for. If they can do it on other lesser cars at ford they sure can on the Mustangs. No reason for a brand new car to have the look of the rear bumper cover falling off. Literally

That sounds a lot like my car.

Joint the club.
I had all of that. But that's exactly how my luck always is.
2 broken front bumper tabs on the core support.
Door ding
Hood ding
1/4 panel ding
Both ground effects were dented (gouged)
Rear bumper cover had paint metallic sag
Center console had a gouge
Big paint chip on the hoods edge that the factory touched up with a fking brush.
Crooked ott stripes
Scuff mark on right door interior panel
Nail in left front tire
Perfect new car for $65k

Did you get a real lemon? Definitely some improvement could be added to the paneling I agree - but your bumper really looks like it's falling off?
