Hi guys,

I picked up an airlift suspension system for my non PP GT while on sale and will be installing it within the next few weeks hopefully. I was wondering if their are any recommended "should do", or "must do" mods to the suspension/chassis while I have things taken apart and on a lift. Car is currently stock for the exception of an H pipe and resonator delete. I do not track it or autocross it, just a three season nice day spirited driver. I am not a mechanic so alot of the stuff that I see mentioned I am not really familiar with, or at least the benefits. (cradle lockout kits, bushings/vertical links, blah blah blah)

Any insight and opinions are appreciated.

It depends on how much you hate wheel hop.

Do the BMR Cradle Lockout. It improves wheel hop, power-on handling and also improves the ride a little (everything settles faster/is more controlled).

As much as I see it mentioned here on the forums, I can't say that I have experienced any to be honest. At least nothing that sticks out in my head. Is this typically only experienced when mashing on the gas from a complete stop?

Does this mode attribute to NVH, or a less comfortable ride?

What I noticed is that there is zero affect on ride harshness, but you will hear things a little more than you used to. You will feel smaller road imperfections more than you used to, but larger ones are actually better controlled and no harsher.

You have to accelerate pretty hard to get wheel hop, but the rest of the benefits of the kit are worth it. I have a lot more confidence putting power down after installing it.

I'd say that the absolute must are CB005 and alignment sleeves.

For stuff that is cheap and easy to install yourself...strut/cowl brace, vertical links, a 2/4 point brace, and that's about it. I find it hard to justify a set of sways and toe links, but they're not expensive either. Maybe with bags, the sways become very important but I haven't really worked with any bags.

Start with easy bolt-on stuff.

Now, those toe bearings, LCA bearings, RCA, diff bushing, etc...anything related to bearings or bushings, are either a)hard to install and/or b)NVH causing. It's not to say they're not worth it, they might be of big benefit, but I wouldn't recommend them as first mods (specially if you don't know much about this stuff or haven't worked at it).

Agreed on this one for sure. For about $170 for the FRPP kit with both pieces, you get a pretty solid improvement in front-end response and feel.
